I have just upgraded to a Blackberry 9700 but my sim card won't work in it.
Requested a NUC and followed the procedure but it hasn't worked. I can't access any 'personalisation options' from the SIM card menu as I'm told to do in the NUC procedures I was sent.
What do i do/try now? HELLP!

if you place a non VF sim in the device, when it boots up it should prompt you to check if you would like to unlock or you can follow the procedure below
How to Enter Unlock Codes on BlackBerry Storm
1) Need a SIM card inserted into the phone
2) Click on manage connections, select turn all connections off
3) Go to Options Menu, Options, Advanced Options and then SIM Card.
4) Hit the menu button and select show keyboard (Skip step if your device has a keyboard)
5) Type in MEPD (CASE SENSITIVE) using the keyboard (nothing will show on screen)
0) You will see the Personalization screen, that show SIM> Disabled, Network> Active, Network Subset> Disabled
6) Type in MEP2 (Again case sensitive) (Nothing will show on screen - use "Alt" to show numbers.) another screen pops up for the code.
7) Now it will say enter network mep code Enter the code that we send you, remember you ONLY have 10 chances to get it right
8) Press the enter key
9) A message will appear saying code accepted
00) On Personalization screen you will see the Network> Inactive.
10) Turn device off, insert SIM of your choice if have not done so already
11) Turn the phone back on

Hi nancy,
Thanks for letting us know that you're havi ng trouble with your NUC.
In all honesty, it's pretty difficult to explain over the internet how to input your NUC and it might be worth you popping into your local store tomorrow for assistance.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi! My Blackberry 9700 doesn't seem to be responding to the NUC when I enter it. 3 attempts have already been made - 2 at the Vodafone Store (once in Piccadilly in London and then again in Hampstead London). I have also tried the NUC at home. I have 7 attempts left. Please what should I do? Please also note that I no longer have the phone number 0777 554 33xx is no longer on Vodafone. It used to be but no longer and I have now ported it over to a Tesco Mobile SIM. I therefore have a Tesco mobile SIM inside when I am trying to unlock the phone. Please help and advise how can I unlock the Blackberry? With kind regards --------- Noida12 ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Date: 28 January 2011 14:51 Subject: Vodafone Network Unlock Code To: ambuj.gupta@gmail.com Dear Customer Further to your telephone conversations with the Vodafone Helpline regarding the unlocking of your Blackberry 9700 (ONYX) handset with the IMEI of 3593950316698xx and mobile number of 077755433xx I set out below the procedure and the unlocking code:- NUC CODE: 39889050702042xx 1.Turn off the radio on the handheld.Failure to do this could result in the handheld becoming unusable. 2.From the home screen, go to Options > Advanced Options > SIM card. 3.Type 'mepd' You should see personalisation options. 4.Type 'mep' press and hold the ALT key and press '2'. 5.You are now prompted for the unlock code. 6.Type in the unlock code and press Return. 7.Restart the Blackberry handheld by removing and replacing the battery.
