BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

Hi Jade8701 and MickyWelsh

Thanks for your posts here.

I'm sorry to hear that your activation hasn't gone through yet. I can appreciate how frustrating this is especially when all you want to do is play with your new device! :)

It can take up to 24hrs for the SIM to become active on the network. Don't forget to regularly turn your device off and on again so that the SIM updates on the network. Can you let us know if it still isn't working and we'll be happy to take a look at this for you

Thanks

Wayne

BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

hey Jade, ive sice rang Phones4U and they put me through to Vodafone. This was after the 48 hours was up, and they have told me they are gonna do it manually, and should be on tonight, if not, it will be another 48 hours ######!

You dont start paying for it till its activated, apparently!

BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

Hi all

jade8701
is this a new number you have, or are you porting in from another network? If it's a port, you'd be looking at Monday/Tuesday of next week before it's completed, but a new number would be normally within 24 hours. MickeyWelsh is correct, in that your charges will not start until the SIM is activated.

If you haven't been activated by Monday, let us know and we can look into this further for you, bearing in mind a port would happen after 2 working days, so not inclusive of the weekend.

Regards

Re: BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

Your SIM needs activating and your BIS provisioned. If you give Customer Care a call, this will quickly be done.

You can find the number for calling on the contract us page of the website.

Re: BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

Hiya, questions that might be helpful are

Did you get the deal from Vodafone direct of through a 3rd party.

If through a 3rd party it could be they have not set it up correctly.

If through Vodafone, then as has been stated sim card set up can take 24 hours, make sure and turn your handset on and off and if possible try the sim in another handset to make sure the device is not faulty.

If after 24 hour, its still not working then speak to customer services who can speak to a specialised team for you to check why your sim card hasn't registered, before doing this probably best confirming the sim card they have showing on their account against the numbers on your sim card   usually start 8944 1000  - it can sometimes be it has simply been keyed in incorrectly to your account.

After confirming the sim card number, the team can check why it hasn't registered, again it could be a faulty sim card, at which point they can send another, or if you pop into a Vodafone store they can give you one free of charge.

It CAN be resolved and its just frustrating when you get a new phone

#Vodafone help sucks.  No signal so expect you to pay extra PER MONTH so that your phone works?

Re: BlackBerry Curve - SIM not provisioned

Is it my problem I don't have a signal when I pay a monthy for that service?

Why should I have to pay extra to get a signal?

How come yesterday I could get my emails on my Blackberry but today I can't?
