with small gprs, it sounds like you might not have it, if you have tried the rest you are really looking at checking with customer services that is has been provisioned on your account

Hi,

We have several BB Curve 8520's in our company, and all of them have been fine until last week. On 25th May one of our users reported that she was no longer receiving e-mails. So we were quite confident a re-activation to our BES would sort that out. However we couldn't get Enterprise activation to show, so we registered again through Host Routing, and the message sends but nothing comes back. I then decided to look at the connection options and found that BIS is Not Connected.

We only had a chance to have a look on Friday last week, a good week after the initial issue showed up. I went through the standard, take the battery out and reset it, and the Host Routing Table options etc. We still have no BIS. I have even resent the books from our BES system, and still the server is saying that last contact with the user was on the 25th May.

Any ideas? All the other suggestions have already been tried. So any assistance would be great!

made quick call this morning and sorted it out.
bertyb i did not understand the  (small gprs)reply yesterday but i do now cause i got  BIG GPRS now

glad its sorted leon, sorry should have explained gprs GPRS, though I am no expert myself lol

There is lots of good info on Vodafone's web sites about Blackberry, also youtube www.youtube.com/vodafoneuk and Blackberry's own support site is pretty comprehensive.

The only other thing that I would now suggest as you mention this is a business account, is to call the business team to make sure that the BES is still active for all of the BlackBerry handsets that you have.

Hi Martin,

 

I have forwarded this to our Business provider, however it's now with Vodafone Tech support.

 

BES is still active as we have had no other complaints from users. Just the one user who is without e-mail and internet.

 

It's very strange as it has been fine as long as I have been in the job. So for just one to go is quite strange, if the whole lot had gone I would guess BES would have been the prime suspect. But just 1 down and normal reset procedures don't work. Very odd indeed.

So that we can make sure that this is provisioned still on the network and with BlackBerry I have just sent you an email. If you can reply back to that with the relevant information, along with the BlackBerry PIN number which you can find in, Options > Status. We can then check this out.

Hi,

 

I'm trying to set up a curve to access an exchange work email but we're not using a BES. I've got internet access on the phone but the only option I get when I try to set up email is to use a BES so I need a Blackberry Internet service account right?

 

When I enter the device PIN And IMEI durng the account set up I'm told that the device is not registered with a wireless service provider. I've gone to Host Routing and selected register now, it sends the message and then nothing happens. I go back to the account set up and get the same message.

 

Can you help?

I think that you have covered everything that you could on the phone, but I believe that we need to look at the provisioning on your account

Hello,
I appear to be having the same problem as others here.
I have a Blackberry Torch and in the service status the blackerry internet is not connected, even though it has always worked fine previously and I've had the phone since december.
I have tried turning the handheld off and removing the sim card, i have also gone through the steps of registering in the host routing table but this doesnt appear to have worked either.

Would appreciate your help in fixing this!

Hi there,

I'm also having this problem, ever since I had my number transferred to my Blackberry from another network the 'Blackberry Internet Service' status is 'Not Connected' as is the 'Blackberry Enterprise Server'. However, I can use the browser, I am just not receiving Emails, not able to use Blackberry Messenger or applications like Facebook on my phone. I have done as previously suggested in this forum, taken battery out and sim, then registered to which I have received confirmation yet these items are still not helping.

Please could you help!

Hi,

I am also getting the bis problem since upgrading my blackberry uing desktop manager. Ive tried the resetting the host routing tables but this has not worked and the gprs symbol is now stuck in lowercase. 

Could you help me please?

Hi,

I have two BB Torch phones.I received NUC code and I unlocked my both handsets.Just to check, I put Three sim in both handsets and since then my BIS is not working.I have followed all instructions mentioned here.I have even reset the OS via desktop manager.Please help!!!!!

Hi I just bought a PAYG 9300 curve. I have subscribed to BIS but have so far been unable to access the service nor the browser, Was I supposed to be sent set-up details? Help please! The only thing I can do with my BB right now is texting and calling and that's boring.

Similar problem here with a new Bold 9780.

BIS was working, however the email setup application was crashing so I updated the softare with the desktop manager tool. Ever since then BIS is not connected. Host routing table is empty, lowercase 'gprs' in the top right corner.

 

All very similar symptoms to those described in this thread.

 

Tried removing the battery and sim as suggested, no luck.

Tried registering for routing tables in advanced options, no luck.

 

Please can a mod send me the email that others have got to progress a solution.

Same has happened to me, really fed up, as I spent all night upgrading the software, and then now my bbm contacts are not working, emails not working, even blackberry protect doesnt work, or facebook.

This is really annoying, we are expected to upgrade, now this, and I have also been told that I do not have the correct payment scheme either, and I am on pay monthly what  is going on Vodafone!!!!!!

Really not happy with this, as I have spent weeks getting it right, and now appear to have to reset back to the orginal setting when I got it, and loose everthing that I have downloaded, although I do not know how to do it!!!

Hard restart hasnt worked either!!

Sorry but really wound up know, as I have know been trying to correct this for 6 hours!!! yes 6 hours hard to believe eh!!!

SAME FOR ME exactly my torch is not working since upgrading software, if there is a problem bberry should not be sending messages telling us to upgrade. 

 

Can you send email to me please so I can get my 9800 working again?
