BlackBerry Torch

Hi sane0810 and welcome to the eForum

The BlackBerry torch does look like an awesome handset! :)

I don't know whether we will be stocking the handset or not yet as nothing has been announced, however, keep an eye on our coming soonsection for any announcements on up and coming handsets

Thanks

Wayne

BlackBerry Torch

Wayne,

I definitely got the idea from the Vodafone Blackberry Devices main page that Vodafone WILL be stocking the Torch on a Pay Monthly Contract..... It's one of the full models listed as coming soon with a full featured page on its capabilities - seems a lot of trouble for the marketing design boys to go to if "don't know whether we will be stocking the handset or not " is the Vodafone verdict?

Vodafone Blackberry

That page was made available on the very same day of the AT&T Torch release in America......

The big question is what time frame we're looking at - presumably the marketing boys (who made the page) or the Device guys (presumably doing the final testing) would have some sort of idea? Q3 or Q4 ?

I've been playing with the developer's Simulator to check out the new Browser, Social feeds and overall user interface upgrade - It's great, I want one in the flesh ASAP. :-)

Regards,

Rupert.

BlackBerry Torch

just wanted to follow this up with....

ITS FLIPPING AWESOME!

What a great phone. Switching form the 9000 was simple. The phone is NOT laggy liek many others would have you think. Its solid build, the OS is responsive, all my OS5 apps have worked on OS6 and im loving the capacitive touchscreen :)

Cant recommend this phone highly enough to anyone thinking of switching!

BlackBerry Torch

what problem are you having ?

I did a device switch from my 9000, then moved my sim and sd card over, logged into mobileemail, revalidated my email accounts and was up and running.. nothing more complicated than that.

I tried a similar route, hover I used the online mobileemail portal to try and add my device, but it kept saying that it could verify my phone's IMEI number and PIN. I havent recieved the registered msg that I usually get as soon as I pop in my SIM either though, so I was hoping that had something to do with it. I'm going to try and set everything up directly from the device, and see how that turns out. GREAT device might I add! My Bold 9000 transition has also been seemless so far (excluding my lack of data services that is :) Thanks for the reply!

BlackBerry Torch

I just wanted to inform everyone that I too am up and running successfully with my unlocked BB Torch. So far it's proving to be an easy transition from my Bold 9000, and arguably the best BB I've owned to date (I owned quite a few over the years). I am extremely impressed by the touch screen...it definitely rivals my iPhone 3GS so I don't have any concerns when switching back and forth when typing on the two. Mid September can't come soon enough Vodafone UK...my wife wants to use her upgrade for one also!

@Darkone--Thanks again...I must've been in a bad signal area initially when I tried to setup, but on my second try at a different location--setup went flawlessly. I appreciate the help!

Glad I held off upgrading.

Any views on the battery life? That is the main downfall of my Storm 1.

BlackBerry Torch

Seems to last longer than my old 9000... I do a fair bit of browsing and listening to streaming audio, email and txting. Seems good.... tho I dont switch on 3G very often as GPRS/EDGE & wifi suffices for my needs in most cases...
