Blackberry 8320 - Blackberry Services Not Working

Hi
I have a blackberry 8320, and had activated the free blackberry service available on vodafone PAYG.

Surprisingly, as soon as i activated the service, it was active with in 2 mins and all messengers (yahoo, Gtalk and blackberry messenger), were functional. But it was short lived, in one day somethingh happened and i was logged off from the services.

I have tried giving hard reset to my device, which included bringing handset to default settings, and doing registration on vodafone website but nothingh has helped.

Can any one help, or should i try moving to another operatorr.

Blackberry 8320 - Blackberry Services Not Working

Hi puneet.india

Firstly, welcome to the Vodafone eForum family. :)

I'm sorry to see you're having issues with your new Blackberry, but I'm confident we can get this resolved for you.:)

Do you have credit on your account?

The BIS(Blackberry Internet Server) which you get for free until June 2011, does not include a data allowance. So yes, it allows you to access the services, but you'll still need credit or a data pack to use the services.

If you have credit, can you check if the GPRS?3G symbol on the front of the device is in capitals letters. If it's not, there may be an issue with the BIS thats on your account, and you'd need to speak to customer services concerning that.

Also, go to Options/Settings > advanced options > host routing table > press the Blackberry key, then select register now from the drop down box

This will pull a service book to your device.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Regards

Re: Blackberry 8320 - Blackberry Services Not Working

Deactivate the services by calling 40035 then do a hard reset/manual roam combo
opt in again through 40035 and the do another hard reset.
this worked for me :robothappy:
