Blackberry Bold (2) 9700 Sat-Nav

Does anyone know when the Blackberry Bold 2 (9700) will have a working Sat Nav?

I went for VF and the BB to use the Sat Nav. I spoke to the Customer Services a number of times, and I've been told that for the Storm 2 it's available, but for the Bold 2 it's coming soon.

This was over a month ago!

How long does it take to make it available for the Bold 2??

I really could do with a Sat Nav on the BBY. It's a great phone otherwise, just no Sat Nav, which I understood to be part of the VF package.

Blackberry Bold (2) 9700 Sat-Nav

Hi TheFitz,

A trial version of the Find and Go service is available for the Bold 9700 via the App centre. However, at present there is no way to upgrade to the full version once the trial is finished. Our support teams are currently working on developing a satnav app for the Bold 9700, I cannot confirm whether it will be the Find and Go service or an entirely different app though.

I am chasing this up and once I have more information then I'll let you know.

Blackberry Bold (2) 9700 Sat-Nav

hey,

i was very disappointed to learn that vodafone were going to start charging for sat nav, and slightly confused because there are quite a few pieces of software you can pay for that are better than find and go.

better still, telmap, who make the software for vodafone are letting people download their latest version for free in beta mode. i haven;t used it much but it does what it's supposed to and it's free! sign up here http://global.telmap.com/tugpcbeta/

also, u could get the find and go free trial for 30 days then get the telnav 30 day free trial

I have been using that for a few weeks now and it's brilliant. You can't beat it seeing that it's free. A couple of times they screwed up the updates, but soon fixed it so all good!

Hi klukhome,

Thank you for posting. The link that maxluk has provided will work, however you'll also be able to download Vodafone Navigation from Blackberry App World.

Give that a go and let me know how you get on :).

Since we started using the Bold 9700, we use the ‘Vodafone Find & Go’ from the application centre. When the trial expires, it asks you to subscribe and takes you to the 360 site to confirm a £5 a month fee (taken from your credit/account). Seems to working fine...

There is an alternative that I use called ‘WisePilot’. Works great! And that's the one I prefer. You can use it on a pay-as-you-go bases, costing £1.50 a day. You can also choose to subscribe weekly or monthly. It's cheaper than 'Find & Go' and works better. You can plan your routs on-line (using your desktop computer) and the details get downloaded to your phone automatically before you go. It also keeps a record of your trips.

This can be found by searching your browser or it's on the app world.
