Blackberry Bold only getting an SOS signal :\

Hiya, I am currently only getting an SOS signal on my phone which is really annoying me as it is preventing me from sending/recieving and information. I live on the East Coast of Scotland and Im wondering whether there is any work going on right now with vodafone which could be causing this or whether it is my actual handset? When I am in my house I cant get a signal anywhere, but when I went into town today (6 miles away) I could get a signal no problem. Help please, its driving me insane!

Re: Blackberry Bold only getting an SOS signal :\

I have just done that, but I dont know really what Im looking for :\ There is nothing near to me that I can see which suggests anything that may be being worked on. Is there usually an icon on display nearby which would suggest work was being carried out? I know its not my handset as my boyfriend was over today and he also has a Blackberry and his signal was also lost when he came to the house.

Re: Blackberry Bold only getting an SOS signal :\

Am I to presume that you used to have signal in your house prior to this 'SOS' signal fault ? You could always give Customer Service a ring to see if there is any works going on in the area that haven't been annouced on that web page (ie emergency work to a transmitter)

Yes, I have always been able to get a signal easily over the many years that I have been with vodafone.

Oki doki I'd give CS a ring to see if they can shed any light on the subject or maybe give a member of the mod team a nudge to see if they can investigate the problem for you further

Re: Blackberry Bold only getting an SOS signal :\

Hi donna-1991

I have checked out the area covered by the postcode you have listed in your personal details, and I have found a site fault.

The site is 230, and is located at Rossie Farm School DD10 9TW. The site has been down since the 6th June 2011, and is reported under fault ref. 2241006.

I do not have any further information as to when this site will be back online, but I will request this is added to our Faults Board, to allow easier monitoring of this issue.

Regards

Re: Blackberry Bold only getting an SOS signal :\

I am also in the DD10 area -  I have a HTC and cannot get a signal -  I've been in touch with customer services at the beginning of July and was told it would be fixed in "one weeks time".  For a one day after my phone call I got a signal at home but nothing since.  When exactly is it going to be fixed.  Vodafone have already given me one months free rental for the inconvenience.

DD10 no Signal at all

7. Post the Network issue template (below)

Copy the below template into your post. The more detail we have, the quicker we can identify and resolve the issue.

---------------------------------------------TEMPLATE-----------------------------------------------

Post Title: 'First half of post code - Area' E.g. ST1 - Stoke on trent

1). Does the issue happen in just one location. If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service ?

When at home - just a few miles out of the village -  less than 5 miles

2). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the forum, add it to your profile here.

DD10

3). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

Yes

4). Are there any issues in your area already reported on the Faults Board?

Vodafone are aware there is a fault - have already spoken to Customer Services at the beginning of July 2012

5). Does this issue happen on 2G, 3G or both? To check, go to the Help Centre, select your phone and then select "network".

Happens with both 2G and 3G

6). What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?

No Signal available

7) When did you first notice this issue?

its been going on for at least 6 weeks if not longer

8) Is the issue permanent or intermitent (If intermitent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs)?

permanent issue

My husband and I are both on Vodafone -  he is on pay as you go with a 2g phone and I'm on a monthly contract with a 3G

phone and neither phone has a signal when at home.  We used to get a really good signal till this issue started.  Its been going on too long now.  As things are at the moment we can't even use the mobile phones to dial the emergency services should we need to call them.

Re: DD10 no Signal at all

Hi Froz

Thanks for your reply with the requested details. You are correct that there is currently a registered fault in the DD10 area and more information can be found here - 10887 - DD10. However the DD10 covers a broad spectrum and may be served by more than one cell site. Therefore please could you post your full 6/7 digit postcode so that we're able to investigate this further for you?

Thanks

Simon

Re: DD10 no Signal at all

Well that's strange cos I've had an acknowledgement from Vodafone -  telling me that there is a fault in my area and that you are aware of it.  What I want to know is when is it going to be fixed it must be at least two months now since we've got no signal in the village where I live.  I'm paying for a service that I'm not receiving!!!

Re: DD10 no Signal at all

Hi Froz

Thanks for you reply. Was the e-mail acknowledgement that you received from the eForum or our customer service team? As Wayne says we've searched our customer service e-mail queues and there is nothing in there from your regsitered eForum e-mail address.

I've resent the PM with details of how to contact us again. You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Congratulations -  it is now into the third month when there has been no vodafone signal at this location.  When is it going to be fixed?
