I have been using Sure Signal for a few weeks and it works fine with my iPhone 4 and my wifes HTC, however my work vodafone Blackberry Curve doesn't get a signal at all. It is fine with the WIFI and has been registered and re-registered, I have taken the SIM out and re-booted several times. I have checked the settings and they are all ok.

Any helpful suggestions would be really appreciated!

sorry to hear that you are having problems with your BlackBerry Curve and your Sure Signal, and I will apologise if the questions i am about to ask seem really dumb, but they may help to get you up and running.

So.....

Have you registered your work number on the sure signal?

What model of BlackBerry Curve do you have (Needs to be a 9300 or 9360 model, as the 8300, 8310, 8900 and 8520 are not 3G capable)?

Have you tried a different SIM in the BlackBerry (Your wifes HTC SIM) and your Blackberry SIM in another phone (Wifes HTC)?

Do you get 3G when you are out and about in 3G coverage?

Have you go the latest software on your BlackBerry?

If everything above seems OK, if you post your serial number for the sure signal, one of the mods may be able to request a resync on the Sure Signal which may push things through.

Thanks Grayman, it appears that I have the 8520.

If I give you the phones MAC address, would that enahnce the signal?

I swapped the SIM with my wifes and sure enough it worked in her HTC, the BB still didn't respond. 3G coverage is fine when out and about.

Hi again MaxyJam,

the MAC address would not really help here.  The problem that you are having is that your BlackBerry is not a 3G handset (it only runs on the 2G network).  The Sure Signal is a 3G femtocell (a small cellsite for your personal use), and requires that you have a 3G phone to connect to it (the iPhone and the HTC are both 3G))
