Blackberry Messenger - Contacts Pending

Hello,

Every time i add a contact it just stays on PENDING all the time, tried it on a mates Blackberry as well and it does the same.... Please advise, its annoying as hell!

do you have the BIS service on your tariff ??

Yes, its all on - capital GPRS etc

have u tried deleting the pending contacts, pulling the battery out for 60 seconds, then retry the requst ?


also, have u run the diagnostics ?
options > mobile network > menu key > diagnostic test

Check the section with Blackberry Registration, Connected to Blackberry and Blackberry PIN-PIN all return as YES. If they dont, then you may have a provisioning problem that will need a mod to look at.

Do you have problems with another other contact? Generally if it's just the one, it'll likely be a problem at their end. I'll shortly be sending you an email to get some details and some things checked out!

Found your details on our database! Looked into this and there were a few provisioning errors - fixed 'em, so please give this another go :)

This sometimes happens when RIM makes changes on their side of things.

I am having the same problem, I have added some contacts using their PIN and thats worked fine, others have added me using my PIN, or scanning my barcode,

But there are two contacts that I cannot add, we've tried adding each others PIN, or linking to contact etc. but nothing is working! We just stay as 'pending' when neither of us have received an invitation??

It's driving me mad now! I have BIS (on contract) and BBM is downloaded etc...

Help!

Hi, 

 

I have just upgraded to the new blackberry bold 9900, I have also changed networks and joined vodafone. I am having very much the same problem as everyone else, I re-added all of my contacts on my new bb from my old bb, however all of the contacts I have added are pending but when someone adds me through scanning my barcode everything is fine, but im not receiving requests from adding my PIN... Tried pulling the battery, reloading bbm on my phone but no help. Any help would be great!

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

 

I have just contacted one of our BlackBerry experts and there was an issue recently with this, of which I encountered too.

 

This has been fixed and if you can try again with adding a PIN this should work, as it has worked on mine when I had the same issue.

i have the same problem. in dia test my Blackberry PIN-PIN states no!How do i fix this ?

Thanks for your post here and welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the team.

 

Can I ask if all of your other BlackBerry services are working fine?

 

Also have you recently updated the BlackBerry Messenger Application through the App World?

 

Can you confirm if you are on PAYG or contract?

 

If PAYG, have you topped up and paid for BIS subscription?

 

If you can let me know I will be able to advise you further.

 

If on contract and you have tried all of the above please follow the instructions that I have sent you in the PM and one of the team will be able to check the BIS registration for you.

 

In the meantime I would recommend selecting options – device – advanced options- host routing table – blackberry button – register now.
