believe me when i say you want this phone!! i was at the press event in London (happened at same time as NYC event) and got a good 10 mins hands on.

soon as its out im having it, its that simple, web browsing is amazingly fast, and some real sweet touches. bummer it doesnt have openGL, but 4Gb buiilt in (only 512mb ram though) will hold alot of good stuff.

feel free to read my first impressions write up

http://www.bbleaks.c...erry-torch.html
(my pics also on website above

also (if anyone cares) i wrote this review/impressions article on my 9700, while sat on a train on my way home from london!!

my TOP thing i like? text sizing in browser. wickedly cool.

just wanted to add, thats my Storm2 :)

wow, didnt actually pick up what i posted, random.

anyways what i said first time round, was thatnks, it was very last minute, and i was very lucky to go.

they didnt give any dates, but it was only RIM not networks present (plus im sure if a date had been given we would all be in the know by now)

as for people slating it, well in my 3 videos on youtube the only problem i have is using a camera in one hand and a phone in the other lol, the phone was very nice to use (you can even download the simulator from blackberry if ya want a better look at BB6).

tech is always old within a few months of getting it, so i work on the basis of get whats right for you, not what someone tells you is best, after all its you that is gonna use it for a while, not them.

Hey guys.

If you're interested in the Torch or any upcoming phone, why not stay tuned to our Coming Soon page? Haven't got any info right at this moment, but your best bet is to bookmark us and check back regularly to see if we are carrying it.

The vodafone coming soon page does not get updated frequently enough by vodafone. I found this link is the BlackBerry page of the vodafone website, this page has been on the site almost since the RIM press briefing and vodafone have yet to update the coming soon page!

The phone is out in the US, there are strong rumours that the phone will release in the UK as SIM free to buy towards the end of September/October. I would assume that vodafone would release around this time. In terms of pricing I my instinct is that the price plan will be free on £35+ place plan on 24 months contract. Or £40 per month on 18 months contract, my assumption are based on the fact that the 9700 is free on £30 contract.

Hi Nash86,

Thank you for posting, I can understand you must be eager to get your hands on a Blackberry Torch. At the moment though, we haven't heard anything regarding if and when it'll be coming to Vodafone at all. As soon as we do hear anything though, we'll let you know :).

Dave, I read that ones from there might have issues with getting the appropriate OS6 service books when on other networks?

Let me know if yours works as I too have the option to get one from there before the end of the month....

there is no if, its on vodafones website, the whole site could do with updating, like say to reflect the curve 3G that their stores now stock, or even just the pink 9105`s their stores stock, as my old manager once told me when i was in retail, you cant sell what you dont advertise

They have added it now to the coming soon, it's a shame nobody at Vodafone knows when 'soon' is. Whether it is going to be one month or 6 months. The device is already available to buy in the UK it's just a shame Vodafone are being slow on the uptake.

Zarlak,

Devices already on sale are sim free phones, usually Vodafone likes to place some branding/customisation on the phone and conducts some testing before releasing.

There are rumours from BBleaks site that the phone will be released towards the end of September with Pre-orders being taken mid september.

BBleaks also have pricing details for the phone though these appear to be Business Tariff (exec VAT), but I would assume the personal tariff not to be too far off the mark: http://m.bbleaks.com/9325/show/d8539eba4fb68cbff5d3359705520494&t=6dff5b97552001874a470e3a900dce6e

Ouch, £200 on my tariff 600 minutes/unlimited sms/unlimited data at £35 a month. Going with the same price as the iPhone 4 then.

Zarlak,

This is for business tariff, but it is difficult to tell the acutual cost because the screen shot is of a spreadsheet and there are other variables. So I would wait for the official prices on the VF website before deciding which handset to go for.

I will be going for the Torch without a doubt to replace my battered 9000. My missus has the 9700 and I'm not keen on using an upgrade for it as it offers me little difference. Just hoping the price is slightly less but will have to wait and see.
