Blackberry Torch - Links / shortcuts appeared on my phone

Why have 2 links / shortcuts that I did not ask for or want appear on my phone in the last 30 minutes and I cannot delete them only hide them?

in the last 30 minutes 2 links / shortcuts appeared on my "All" page namely 360 shop and Vodafone music I cant delete them, I didn't ask for them I want them deleted from my phone but cant do it??????

Is this similar to the HTC desire and Galaxy S issue of unwanted overpriced rubbish being forced on my phone from voda??

If its what I think it is regarding the links that have appeared then the MODS will not answer or if they do it will be the standard "i will pass it on and do nothing".

The same issue in the Samsung Galaxy S forum is up to 65 pages long with minimal input from Mods, have a look at the HTC desire one as well even longer with stupid inane comments from Mods who will not answer the question.

According to the T's & C's for Vodafone 360 (the original ones in October which i have a copy of not the fudged ones you reissued mid October to try to appease the Samsung users) I should be allowed to remove the links that I don't want so Mods I am asking you directly why cant I?

Voda are pretty quick to tell me when I have breached the terms and conditions of a contract I don't want the links on my phone hiding them is a cheat I want to delete them.

1. The Service: This service (the “Service”) will install some or all of the applications and services listed here http://www.vodafone.co.uk/360 to your mobile device depending on the compatibility of your mobile device and the country from which you are accessing the Service.

This service will also automatically download the latest versions of these applications, recommend new applications offered by Vodafone and its partners from time to time and also improve the way in which Vodafone can offer its services to you.

You can see the latest version of these Terms at http://online.vodafone.co.uk/TermsAndConditions and we recommend that you print and keep a copy. You can agree to these Terms in English. If we make any changes to these Terms, we’ll make sure that we publish the changes on our website in accordance with applicable law and for all changes (other than those required for legal or regulatory purposes) we will provide at least 30 days notice before they take effect. You can stop using the Service and remove both the Service and any applications downloaded via the Service at any time from your mobile device.

The Services are provided by Vodafone Group Trading Limited (“Vodafone”, also referred to as “we”, “our” or “us”), registered in England and Wales at Vodafone House, The Connection, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 2FN under registered number 06844137 registered VAT number GB569 95 32 77.

The part in bold above is the original T&C to change them you need to give me 30 days notice which you didn't. So I state again I want to delete the 2 links.

Mods could I have a response please??

these are being pushed out via service books. Delete them they will reappear.

Fortunately, they are just shortcuts and take up no space on the device, i created a hidden folder, drop all that sort of ###### in it so as not to be bothered by it again.

also as well as a response id like to know, is it legal for vodafone to push applications out to users phones without their consent?

this spam
a) does not enhance my useability of the phone for the purpose it is used or advertised
b) is not a neccesary function on my phone to conform with manufactures guidlines. in short its not needed.

now most people will think `its only this or that` but let me tell you right now, there is no more FUP for internet, therefore YOU (vodafone) are using up MY (the paying customers) data allowance (which is capped) without my approval. that is unlawful and verizon (of whom you are part) have just been made to pay over $50m in rebates and fines to customers and the FCC for practices very similar to this, i wonder if thats what it will take here in the UK (but with ofcom) to get this sorted

5 days and no response and valid questions:

1. Does not enhance my useability of the phone for the purpose it is used or advertised, is not a necessary function on my phone to conform with manufactures guidlines, in short its not needed so why have them?

2. Why have Voda disregarded their own Terms and Conditions?

3. Why can i not remove them?

4. If they have been delivered to my phone without my consent or request can I have the data recredited if I am at the limit of my allowance or if over can I have the charges back to my account?

But most importantly:

As you have violated the T&C's highlighted above does that mean I am not bound by your contract and therefore released?

MODS: HOW LONG BEFORE YOU RESPOND???

whilst i agree with Daveastras sentiments completely, a note that they are shortcuts not apps and in this instance, on the subject of recrediting data allowance, 2KB isnt going to break the bank... but the principle is sound.

well it starts with a few Kb, then you end up like a android user with a full app installed, but as you say, its both the principle and the breach of vodafone uk terms and conditions as mentioned above. imagine if microsft pushed out mess like this to your pc, everyone would flip (its happened in the past and they paid the price for it)

@broadsword, moderators seem very thin on the ground nowadays, heck i had to help someone in the storm2 forum because the mods wouldnt, even now almost 2 weeks on they havent even bothered to comment on that. customer (un)assitance at its very best

According to customer services in Egypt??? They are default applications that come with Vodafone branding, the fact that they were not there till Friday is apparently inconsequential as they should be there??? Even though:

A I did not ask for them

B They break Terms and conditions as they are not deletable.

C They are not compatible with a Blackberry Torch.

So Mods I ask again:

WHY CAN I NOT REMOVE THEM, I DO NOT WANT THEM, THEY ARE NO USE TO ME and for godsake explain your ###### customer service. Just by not answering this will not go away.

and i dont wish to hide it, its spam and in accordance with vodafone terms and conditions i wish to delete it

please do not make pointless comments when its obvious people are frustrated / peeved (anythings else would get *`d out) as it doesnt help anybody.

Hi Guys,

Apologies for the delay in response, we're not entirely sure why these links have suddenly appeared however I can confirm that we have escalated this matter and are currently awaiting a response. As soon as we have any further information we'll let you know.

Thanks

David
