Blackberry Torch - frustration.......

I have four contracts with VF, and one of them is operating on a Blackberry handset used by my wife, and has been for years.

When the last renewal was taken up in November last year, she decided to take on a Torch as she was used to the Blackberry OS.  It didn't take long for her to realise that this was a mistake as the phone was clumsy and not very user friendly.  She uses the phone mostly for texting, emailing and browsing the internet, but the browser is painfully slow even with a very strong Wi Fi signal.  The onscreen keyboad is temperamental and the sat nav/GPS function is poor.  On several occassions she the phone has lost all of her contacts without any action on her part, with no way to get them back.  We have updated the phone via the online system, but it still performs poorly.

I'm aware that we are now out of time to hand the phone back and I've been told the only way to change things would be to buy a new phone.  So, I've got a quote from VF for ther Torch which isn't a lot, and am trying to find out how I can buy a preowned or returned Samsung Note from VF, to see what the lowest amount is that I'd have to pay.

I did try ringing and spoke to three people about this buthelp me with this  none of them could help me, one told me that the buy back team would help but when I rang them they knew nothing about this, so it looks as though the Customer Service element of Vodafone going through the normal channels hasn't got any better.

Can anyone  help??!!!

Re: Blackberry Torch - frustration.......

Hi ianthetaxman

Thanks for your post. I can appreciate your wife's frustration if the phone is performing slowly and randomly losing data. If you're encountering such difficulties with your phone this can be repaired under warranty. You can find more information on this here - Repair a faulty handset or device

We wouldn't normally supply handset only, however we'll be happy to take a look at your account and run through all of the available options. I've sent a private message with details of how to contact us directly.

You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks

Simon

Blackberry sent off for repair then vodafone lost it

Hello,

I have a Blackberry 9800 on my 24 Month contract. I have had it over a year and the main buttons just below the screen came off.

It has insurance and was sent off through vodafone under warranty. They rang me a few days later saying it was classed as customer damage (dont know why as the buttons just fell off), I had to pay £25 excess which I wasnt too pleased about as I pay insurance. The expected return date was the 10-05-2012. I had heard nothing until the 14th so I went to my local store and they said it is in despatch. I got a text on the 15th saying my phone had been recieved at my local store. I went back down there to collect it..... I found out VODAFONE had lost my phone. (Had to be mine)

As i paid £25 excess I was just wondering if I still have to pay it as you lost the phone that was insured and was supposedly repaired. If it turns out i do have to pay the £25 I will cancel my direct debit and take out another contract else where.

I am disgusted with the service I have recieved, I have been a loyal customer for many years and didn't even get told that it had been lost.
