Bold 9700 Build Quality?

Anyone having any issues with the new Bold (9700)? For instance, buttons falling off or squeaky trim etc? May be getting on this week but have heard many people on other forums are having major build quality issues.

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

Hi Dasser74

There are no know issues around this with the bold. If anything like this does happen it will be covered under your warranty and you can either swap the handset like for like if under first 28 days or send the handset off for repair :D

Thanks

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

I have one and I think it looks the nuts. No issues here with build quality. But more importantly it works perfectly. Like you I have moved from the storm and its just great to be able to rely on my phone again. The trackpad takes a little getting used to after the storm and also the keyboard but once you get used to these its a fabulous phone. The battery life is superb,. I havent charged mine for 3 days now and it still has 50% with moderate use, a couple of apps running in the background and wireless permanantly on.
Go for it Dasser, after the storm fiasco its such a relief.

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

Another ex-storm user here :)

The first bold i received had a corner of the screen not sitting properly but was quickly replaced and the one i have now has no faults.

As scoobyweb has said, its such a joy to have a phone that just works as it should after having the storm for a year. I've had it 2 weeks now and not once had to pull the battery.

There have been about 5 OS leaks since i've had the phone, but i've not updated with any of them as the phone just works as it is!!

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

had mine for nearly 3 weeks now.... great build quality, feels bombproof to be honest.

Even takes to my wedding ring being dragged down the screen and no scratches appearing :D (unlike the HTC 'diamond')

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

Had a look at one today - it's so mine, whether it's with VF or not! Could you guys tell me if it comes with Sat Nav software like the old Bold? That rocked and would push me to sticking to VF if it does. Cheers!

It doesn't...but if you head over to telmap and sign up as a beta tester and choose the option for bold 9000, you will do :)

Bold 9700 Build Quality?

I have had mine for a few days and compared to the Nokia E72 the build quailty is excellent, no squeeks or creekes. audio quailty is excellent, battery life is superb compared to the Magic (I manage 3days+ now!!! oh and 3g works)

Haven't used the GPS as I don't think its essential on the blackberry but I have installed good olde google maps for searching and directions while round the town.

The software updates listed on blackberry look promising, but there is only one bug that annoys me and thats the flashing red led while you are reading a message, it won't stop until you have started typing or exit the message.

Droid: HTC Magic (Cyanogen 7), Motorola Defy (Cyanogen 7), Galaxy Nexus (4.0.3), Xperia Arc S (2.3.4)

There are apps around which let you control the LED including turning it off. Look in the app store they are very cheap.
