How do I get OS 6 on my Bold 9700? Is it supported or recommended by Vodafone? Thanks.

Hi,

all RIM software updates should be ok for your device as Vodafone just stick the vendor.xml (Vodafone logo at start up) on there. Everything else is coming from RIM. 

Vodafone don't program anything. RIM release their software for their products. Vodafone don't change any code so strictly speaking if .480 is official it should be forwarded by VF.

And .480 runs fine on mine Hope that helps.

I updated my OS using this website:

(I chose Blackberry 9700 in the dropdown menu, then there was a download link for some software that updates the phone to OS6)

What about for updating via a mac? That link is for .exe files.

Hi Lenon,

Mac users hang a bit when it comes to updates. My suggestion is to use crack berry dot com There you'll finsd the latest OS which is .526 for most berries.

Just plug your BB into the Mac running DM and it should offer you OS6 and install it for you. You dont need the exe file.
