The Storm is the first phone I've had where I've felt the NEED to access a forum daily to ensure that the damn thing was functioning as well as its meagre resources allowed. A friend of mine has just got a 3GS. It works as it's supposed to (which is extremely impressively), he doesn't waste hours trawling any forums and by comparison I feel a bit of a prat.
I can't begin to imagine how those who don't subscribe to this forum are getting along with their Storms but every time I log on I think I'm getting closer to those on CB whose every waking moment seems to be devoted to ensuring their Storm has the latest O/S / hybrid / app. This is not what I signed up for when I got my Storm. I can't wait to get a phone which behaves like a phone, does what it says on the tin and doesn't require a daily trawl of a forum. This forum, its mods and its contributors are excellent but 20,000+ viewings of the 'Blackberry Storm Situation Update' thread suggest that it's all getting a tad OTT. If only Vf realised.

The fact that the topic has had 20,000+ viewings does not necessarily mean they are al related to problems with the handset. (note 20,000+ viewings, not 20,000+ different Storm owners making separate complaints). I look at this topic several times a day out of pure interest and not because I am having problems as my Storm is behaving as it should at the moment.

lmao if they're like my 2 friends who both have storm's (1 is the original first issue (the one with all the issues)) they wait till i call over and throw their phones at me screaming MAKE IT WORK

actually to be honest the oldest one of the storms although it does have all the storm issues is allot better now it has 5.summat on it and the lad who owns it has always said "it's a new phone it's never gonna work perfectly straight outta the box" ............ i wish i had his laid back attitude i want mine perfect straight out of the box even if that does mean i have to trawl the internet looking for the best updates available

Hi Guys

I know how frustrating the Storm can be at times I had one myself :(

The positive thing here is that a lot of forum users seem to be helping each other out and use the forum daily giving answers and asking questions, its just a shame that so many views on one thread is around a product being faulty but at least there’s somewhere to go to vent your frustration constructively and give us feedback on the products we range :D

I’m glad to see though you are happy with the way that we mod and run the forum and that you are satisfied with the service that the forum offers :D

I see you did mention that you were impressed with a friends 3GS, I cant wait until we start to stock this handset too as it looks a really impressive handset and has some really good reviews, you can find out more and even register your interest by visiting our coming soon section on the website.

Thanks
Matthew

Just curious, but does VF frown on its employees taking out a mobile contract with another network?

Hi Brian2412

Matthew isn't here right now to elaborate on that one for you, but I'm here with my Storm - not fed up! ;)

Cheers, Helen

I don't know about the BEST post, but certainly gets a 10 out of 10 for blatant honesty. (and major respect to that)

I just hope it doesn't get him in trouble.

It was probably on older firmware and he has now bagged himself a 3GS

Hi Myrm,

It's a free world. We can go with whichever supplier we like!!!

Of course we're all with Vodafone though ;)

I meant a 3GS that VF have for "testing" purposes.
