It's my first time to try and send picture emails with my bold 9900 and it didn’t work (i'm using the built in email for my hotmail). After a minute or so a red cross appear next to the email and "general failure" in the email. I’m on contract free text and 500mb Internet and still have around 300mb from my allowance to use for Internet. 

So, was wondering what is the problem? i can send an email as long it does not include an attachment. Any idea?

Hi Jo.

Given that you can send text-only emails without any problem, it has to be down to the size of the email.

How are you attaching the photo?  (Are you opening the photo first and selecting Send as Email or attaching to an email while composing?)

From memory, both methods will give the option of altering the photo's size (Original, Large, Medium or Small) ... have you tried selecting small (640x480) to minimise the file size?

How is your signal?

The only time I've had emails fail (red cross) is when it's been a large(ish) file with weak signal.  The BB tries a handful of times but, if the data's not getting through, it shows a failure.

thank you Pau1j.. i didn't expect an "original" size would be large since i used my bold for the image.. but rather large on the email still smaller than original.. thank you.. i have used both but it looks like it's the size issue, weird because i was using wifi hmmm .. i hope it's clear enough on pc

Can I add to this...Ive been unable to EMAIL pics that I have taken on my BB. I discovered that I was taking them in large files incase I wanted to 'use' them. Although I reduced the size down to small for emailing they still wouldnt send,I assumed that would allow them to send,it did not. So it would seem, for me, to send pics I need to take them in a smaller format.
