Hi, I'm trying to set up an email account using BIS on my Blackberry Bold 9900. I know that the email settings are correct as I can access email through other systems (Thunderbird, my iPhone etc). The email account is on a cPanel server that I own running dovecot.
The first message I get says "Your device had a problem connecting to the server" and then when I retry it "Cannot log in. Verify your email address, user name and password. If the error persists, contact [my domain name]."
My web hosting company says that there aren't any connections in the server logs from my email address, so maybe it's a firewall problem?
All help very gratefully received!

Okay, I've discovered a bit more information - if I turn off the server's firewall I can set up the account, but with the firewall up I can't. I've whitelisted all the IP ranges listed here ( http://tinyurl.com/blackberryips ) to the firewall, so I'm guessing that when the email account is first created, Blackberry verifies the connection from a different IP range not listed on that page?

Unfortunately it sounds as though your Firewall may be the cause of the difficulties you are facing and this unfortunately is something we are unable to support.
Do you have any difficulties accessing any other email accounts?
