Cannot connect to the internet - HELP

Hi! I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 9300 (3G) and got some problems to use the mobile internet. When I'm at home I can connet to my Wifi and it works, but when I turn that off and want to use the mobile internet it simply doesn't work. I'm on Vodafone Pay as you go and using Freebees which comes with a 500MB data plan each time I top up. But when I want to use the Blackberry Browser I cannot connect to any website although I am on a data plan. Can anybody help me here? And same is when I want to use the Facebook App via mobile internet it says that this service is only working via Wifi. So I don't really know what to do... because I can't access any internet services unless I am connected to Wifi. Hope somebody can help me. Thanks!!!!

Evening,

 

Do you have the BB option on your number? (£5/month)

 

To get full Blackberry services (this includes the facebook app and BB Browser) on  PAYG you need to blackberry Internet Service added - also gives u BBM and email etc - these all go through the BB server

For email and BlackBerry Messenger on your phone, you need to opt in to the BlackBerry Internet Service. It's £5 for 30 days – and we’ll take £5 from your credit each month unless you opt out.

Get it with My account

Log in or register for My account to opt in.

Call us

Call us free on 40035 from your Vodafone Pay as you go BlackBerry."

 

There may be a way round it if you have another browser on your handset (certainly used to work). If it came from Vodafone check if it has a Vodafone Live! icon...

I do not have the BB option. I only want to use the Browser and don't need the BB Email and BBM functions. I have now installed Opera Mini on my BB and changed the APN settings on my phone. Now I am able to use the Opera Browser. :smileywink: At least something. But still I can't access the FB app, it's only working when I am connected by Wifi. Do you or does anybody else know how I can use the FB app through my mobile internet? But I don't really want to option in to BIS as it costs me £5 extra per month.

You should be able to go via your opera browser to m.facebook.com - wont give all the bells and whistles as the BB Facebook app, but you can still do all your daily Facebook tasks
