This is a really interesting question so I thought I'd test it out with one of our Storms in the office. It seemed to download just fine from the main browser and fully installed.
Give this link a go in your browser from the Storm baz and let me know how you get on:

By the look of it this was a temporary outage from BlackBerry. Before trying the link above I recommend doing a hard reset of the Storm:
1: Remove the battery and SIM Card for 10 seconds.
2: Replace the battery but leave the SIM Card out and turn on.
3: Leave switched on for a few minutes, then switch off and reinsert the SIM Card.
4: Switch back on.
It might also be a great idea to clear the memory from the browser:
1: Open the browser.
2: Press BlackBerry key and go to Options.
3: Select Cache Operations.
4: Click all Clear buttons and the Clear History.
5: Press the back key.
While we're on the topic of online services be sure to check out our Vodafone Mobile Internet Services for convenient and time-saving programs. Also make sure to take advantage of our other time saving online services such as Vodafone My Account. You can basically manage your complete account right online without ever having to pick up a phone or wait in a queue.

Hi i did that and still i keep getting your phone does not meet system requerments and it does i have checked over and over to make sure tht it does

Thanks for getting back to us! If what Adam has suggested didn't iron things out, it may be a setting on your device. Do you know how much memory you left when you're trying to load the app store on your Storm? Also have you been able to access the app store before this happened? Finally, do you know if you are on the BIS or BES setup on the account? If you're paying between £5 - £15 for the service it will be BIS, anything above that will probably be the BES or company version which can struggle with the app store.
michelle 1234, if you're getting the same issue on the Bold could you answer the above questions too so we can get you both up and running again?

I should be paying £35 a month but it comes in more around the rate of £50 but thats another issue aired in the past.
Every time i try to download app world using the link you posted plus just trying to navigate there the page that contains the download will not render it just goes blank and the rendering just stops. I have cleared memory and i have a new 16gb card in the phone my app memory is at 46.7mb and phone memory is blank due to not having any other apps installed because it is a loan phone. Any ideas?

I finally managed to get it. What i did instead of entering my email adress and wait for an email i clicked on the download to computer option. I Clicked this option from my bb handset browser not my computer browser. For some reason this worked for me and has been working since. Give it a try Heres a pic to help

I'm beginning to suspect that this is more that a memory issue, we've certainly cleared all other options and may be looking at some sort of network, RIM sync issue.
As it's a loan phone it is possible that your Blackberry PIN is still registered as the original device (sent off), this may be causing problems or a conflict. We need to make sure that your Blackberry Bold PIN matches your Blackberry account, to do this we'll have to look into your account.
Please reply to the email I'll be sending you today, once we have your Blackberry PIN and IMEI details we can do a full check to make sure it's all working fine.
