Dev Alpha running on vodafone uk :)

hey all, so just figured id drop a screenshot of my shiny new BlackBerry 10 dev alpha runn a vodafone micro sim.

its worth noting this is NOT the final OS or hardware, but all i can say is wow! the son this is amazing, its a 1280x768 4.2" screen with a dpi of 357. For some comparison the HTC one X is 317dpi, iPhone4S is 327dpi SGS3 is 306dpi and Lumia 800 is 252dpi. simply put its THE best screen out there right now :smileyhappy:

BB10 does look quite impressive but obviously is it too little too late...?

i dont think its too little, as for too late, well that`ll become apparent, but when you consider theres 6 billion mobile phone users, and alot of the majority arent smartphone users, thats alot of expansion to still happen.

or are we saying we should settle with what we have, and there cant be any big competition to android and iOS? because in 2006 nobody saw apple coming, look what happened then.

No one predicted the demise of Palm either. I for one hope that Blackberry survives and prospers but it's looking increasingly unlikely I'm afraid.

As long as RIM maintains a true Blackberry identity & resists the urge (& marketing pressures) to simply create another Iphone clone. There are enough of those already!

The world is more than large enough for Blackberry to prosper & save us from the impending duopoly.

I completely agree and I am a big fan of RIM but that isn't enough. They have dropped the ball and are very unlikely to survive as an independent alternative to Apple and Android. BUt I hope they do. I personally use an iPhone but my wife and 3 of my kids are on BBs.
