Disappointment

Well, 11 months into my 18 month contract, I have finally decided to up and leave. After 12 years with O2, I changed to Vodafone last year for the Storm, and what a let down. I wanted this phone to be what it was billed as, the iphone killer, but sadly, it's not even close.

This will be the first time I have ever paid to get out of a contract, and hopefully the last.

Mods, you do a great job on here, and I don't envy you.

Not enough firmware updates, and as many others have said, a lack of signal and ability to make phone calls (which I took for granted before I got the storm) have ruined my experience of both Blackberry, and Vodafone. This 'phone' is not fit for being a phone, and should have been recalled, or some sort of compensation offered.

But out with the old, and in with the new, shiny iphone arrives tomorrow and hopefully it turns out to be everything the Storm wasn't.

A crazy idea, but maybe I will even be able to make phone calls!!

It wouldnt make any difference to me whether Vodafone were releaseing the i-phone or any other top of the range phone. At the end of the day Vodafone have ###### off a lot lof loyal customers & taken them for a very long ride with the BB Storm saga. Im currently weighing up my options, either way I will not be paying the rest of my BB Storm contract as I'm going to claim every last penny back from VF through the small claims court. I'm sure as other BB Storm customers contracts expire Vodafone will notice a big drop in their UK customer base.
I've been waiting over 10 months for this new firmware release to solve all the annoying bugs that came with .078 & .141 & allthough some of the bugs have been fixed I'm still left with a phone that keeps locking up, has a ###### signal, ###### battery & really slow response time!

I've finally had enough of this ######!!

See you in court VF!!

Hey

Another happy customer then........

I am one of those customers with the Storm that have had all the same problems, infact friday night I was called by a MOD to discuss a slight problem I had and he had a full on Storm signal issue experience with me then. I'm currently on Storm number 2 with an offer in dicussion and no not another Storm :)

I do feel your pain mate but I have to disagree with you vodafone are going to get a hell of a lot more customers when the Storm 2 arrives and also the iPhone. Despite all my problems the support you get from these guys is pretty ###### good I have not had such a good customer service experinece with any provider until VF.

Cellnet or O2 who ever they were back when I had the Moto Razor
3 with the LG somet or other
Orange with the Motorola MPX200
and the worst by a long way One2One now T-mobile with some god awful thing I dont even remember.

I'm sorry your not happy but have you tried sorting out some sort of arrangment with the MODs ??? they are quite accomadating to us Storm owners we all know there not what they should be. I suggest you give one of them a shout and good luck with whatever path you choose to take.

I know what you mean. Most of the people on here who claim they are taking legal advice or say things such as "see you in court, VF" are all talk and no action. I bet Sonicpromo hasn't done a thing toward it. I honestly do not think any court action would be successful anyway. VF will always state that the contract is for airtime and not the handset; it even says that in their T's & C's. You can argue until you're blue in the face about the handset, but VF are covered whether we like it or not. There are other ways to get a satisfactory resolution without resorting to "I'll see you in court, VF."

That is what I have said in other posts. It is the same reason why VF suddenly jump to attention when you do actually do something!

Got my iphone on Friday, and for anyone who wants away from Storm, (link removed) gave me £107 for it which was used to pay off almost my whole contract. Best thing I ever did. The Storm isn't even 1% of what the iphone is!

Disappointment

I had to buy another phone on Saturday whilst away on business as my Storm screen chucked it all together, could see everything but wasnt responding. Bought an I phone and yep its great to use and does exactly what it says on the tin, but o2 coverage is terrible.
Called vodafone to divert the storm number to the o2 and eventually after 3 calls to India?? managed to get it sorted. Phoned Business CS this morning and there sending me out another storm for tomorrow.

I dont like my storm one little bit and cant wait until its time to change, but to be fair to vodafone they have the best overall coverage and my experience of CS have always been good.
