I am having some trouble taking advantage of the free music offer I received with my new Blackberry deal. I am supposed to get 10 free music downloads per month for 6 months but I can't seem to do it (for free, anyway).
I originally downloaded one song from the vodafone music website,via my pc (to test the water). I checked my online bill a couple of days later to find that a charge had been generated for the download. I contacted Vodafone about downloading and they emailed the following to me;
'Thank you for contacting Vodafone Customer Service in regards to your song download charge.I have reviewed your account and can confirm that 10 track music download pack - free for 6 months have been activated on your account. However if you wish to download the songs please do it from Vodafone Live and it will not be charged.The song which you have downloaded on 20/5/2012 has not been download from Vodafone Live, hence the charges have been applied'
Fair enough I thought. I've downloaded from the wrong place. So I went on to puchase more songs from my phone using Vodafone Live.
I checked my bill and again it told me that I was going to be charged for the tracks. I questioned it again with Vodafone and they sent the following email;
'Thank you for writing to Vodafone Customer Services.
I understand your concern regarding the free music tracks. I have checked your account and can see that that your price plan includes 10 Music tracks package which is free of cost for you. I would like to inform you that the package is free for you but you will be free dowload for 10 music tracs and chargeable after that. If you want to download a track or album you bought:
- go to the Musicpage on Vodafone live!on your phone
- click on My downloadsto see your purchase history
- here you'll see a list of all the music you've bought. Go to the track or album that hasn't downloaded or you want to re-download and click on it
- the track or album will download directly to your phone.
To re-download music tracks as MP3s on your computer visit www.vodafonemusic.co.uk and click My Purchases'
I'm pretty sure I have done what they siad but now the charges have been applied to my account.
I emailed Vodafone again and got the following response;
'Thank you for writing back to us with regard to the download charges.
I have reviewed your last bill dated June 21, 2012, and can see that you have been charged £6.63 for downloading music tracks. Further, I would like to inform you that, you can only download music tracks from the Vodafone website, and if you will download the music tracks from any other website, you will be charged. Hence, to download the music tracks via Vodafone website, kindly click the below link:
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/apps-and-downlo
I have only downloaded from the Vodafone website or Vodafone Live am still being charged!
Does anyone know how I am supposed to take advantage of the free offer without paying. It is starting to get on my nerves.
Many Thanks

Hi lanky
Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome to the eForum.![]()
If you are downloading from the correct places and still being charged then we need to check the promotion on your account and that it has been applied correctly without conflicting with any other service.
So I can investigate this for you further please follow the Private Message I have sent to you and either myself or one of the team will be in touch as soon as we can.
You can find your PM inbox here.
Many Thanks
