i got my phone unlocked and i had a scrached up simcard in it for a few days, because i could be botherd to put my vodafone one back in. and it kept coming up with 'initilisation failed' so i orderd a new orange sim and the same came up wen i inserted it. i decided to put my vodafone sim back in and it came up again! when i first unlocked my phone, i used bothe voda and '3' and neither of them work! is it my phone which is gone faulty. or isit a sofware problem?? its really bugging me!
p.s. Also when i went on the simcard options and typed 'MEPD' everything was disabled, and i checked it everytime i haad a differnt sim in.

Hi maltesers786
Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome.![]()
It sounds as though the SIM you have been using may be deactivated or is physically damaged and I would recommend trying a new one.
You can collect a SIM from your local store or order one here.
Let me know how you get on.
Many Thanks

Hi maltesers786,
A fault with the connectors would certainly explain the failure of all the SIM cards.
I cannot say exactly how much the repair would cost, but if you were to send the handset for a warranty repair, they would examine the device first hand and then quote you any charge before proceeding so you could choose whether to go ahead or just have the handset returned.
