Hi team i am new to this forum and it has became my last resort. On wednesday at around 6pm my old number from orange became active on my new vodafone contract. Before i ported the number the internet and all the blackberry apps(bbm, email, facebook, weatherbug etc.) were working perfectly however i am now left in a situation where i can only call and text people but not use the internet. I have tried the host routing table test about 5 times and still nothing, i have also tried calling customer services and they are useless. I can browse and us bbm if i have my WI-FI on but not without. I cannot go onto email settings through set up because it simply says 'your device had a problem connecting to the server'. When calling vodafone it does not recognise my number so im not sure if this has a link? Could somebody please help.. Thanks..

Hi there, I may be wrong, but you may want to double check you are subscribed to the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) - if you call customer care, they will be able to tell you if you have this on your account - if you don't that may be the reason as to why you can't access internet apart from on wi-fi?
I am going to get my number ported over from my O2 sim to my new VF sim for use in a blackberry - I was advised to transfer the number first, and only when that was complete to add the BIS.
I do not know if this is of any use, but it may help somewhat..Let me know the outcome when it is resolved

I think you can call Vodafone - find the correct number by going to support and clicking "talk to us" at the top of the Vodafone website. They can tell you if you have it or whether you need to re-add it again after porting the number.
Yes, I have heard that if you add BIS before/whilst you transfer number over, it can cause problems. I think you have to wairt until the number is fully transferred onto your new sim, and then add BIS.
Hope that clarifies it, and that you get it sorted asap. Reply with any update..

Spoke to one of the guys in customer services and they said that they are going to try and re register me with blackberry? Also said to leave the phone turned off for 24 hours.. One other quick point, when i run a diagnostic report on mobile network settings it says 'blackbery registration: yes. Connected to blackberry: No. Blackberry PIN-PIN: Abort... Does this have any link to the problem?

Hey team just a quick update just to say my internet is now back working along with the BB apps. If anybody has this problem i would reccommed calling vodafone and asking to speak to a member of the technical support. Once your on the technical support bit if you have your laptop at the ready they can control your screen by remote access and pretty much sort it all out
Cheers guys
