Losing BIS on Torch

Apologies if this has been covered, but I am at my wits end with my Torch. I cannot get BIS on it! The only way is to jump on a wifi connection that is open. I have talked to Vodafone 'technical' six times in the past three weeks and keep getting told that the service books need to be re-sent and that will sort out the problem, they just don't listen when I tell them this has been done before and makes no difference! Neither does re-registering the host routing table or a complete factory rest. lease help, this is driving me mad, i have a smartphone for a reason, but now have had to shut off 3G just to type this othereise I get the 3G up but no 'dots' and the constant 'unable to find server' message.

Re: Losing BIS on Torch

Services books can sometimes affect this but it sounds deeper than that

I would suggest a factory reset, and retest and if not working to be looking at the repair options as you have already established this is not right

Re: Losing BIS on Torch

Hi, thanks for you replys. I have done a full factory reset twice now, once re-installing all my old settings and then without putting my old settings on it just incase it was something within them causing the problem. I do a battery about 4 times a day as this every nown again sorts the problem for about 10mins which is long enough for me to get an e-mail out if needed. I am running v6.0.0.246 if that means anything to anyone. Thanks.

Re: Losing BIS on Torch

I am still having problems despite it being 'definately rectified' each time I talk to someone, have now had two new sim cards as the old one was too out of date and the new one had a fault that just happened to be the same as the original one! Anyone got any ideas? Please?

Re: Losing BIS on Torch

Hi  mrsxlifts,

When you are attempting to get on to BIS services what does the service show as EG 3G, egde, gprs???

also i know this might be a silly question but needs to be asked up by the service bars do you have the little blackberry symbol all the time or is this intermittent ??

Re: Losing BIS on Torch

This seems to be a problem either with the Torch or the Network as i too have the same problem with BIS frequently dropping out...
