MMS not receiving/sending

Own a BB bold 9790 on business contract. New phone fron Vodafone so not an issue with other provider's phone. All services, eg internet, BBM, email all working well. Service packs have MMS transport listed. When I send an MMS I get the red cross failed to send symbol. When I receive pictures I get directed to the 'Get my photo' site.

I originally had issues with BBM and internet, but got it sorted after ages on the customer service line. I even asked specifically about MMS and was told all ok as my contract covers it. Does not work. Not looking forward to more time hanging on a phone. Anyone help?

I've tried resending service pack for MMS transport - no gateway comes up in pack details - don't know if that is relevant?

Never had issue with previous BB on T-mobile. Wondering whether I should go back?!!!!!

Re: MMS not receiving/sending

It could be that the BB was not correctly provisioned in the first place - hence your call to get BIS services activated - and MMS has been overlooked.  If you search for 'MMS' on this forum, it does happen from time to time.

The Service Books on my BB list MMS Client & WAP MMS Transport - both of which have entries in the Gateway IP.

There are a couple of things to try - an HRT Register (Options > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing Table > Menu Button > Register Now) & another Service Book push (from Email Settings > Menu Button > Service Books > Send Service Books).

After this a Battery Pull never goes amiss.

If the above doesn't fix things, it's another call to Customer Services I'm afraid.  Although one of the mods will pick up on this shortly & may be able to give you a way to avoid hanging on the phone.

Best of luck.

Re: MMS not receiving/sending

Thanks for your really well written reply. Even I managed to follow it! I now have numbers in gateway IP.

Alas the little devils are still refusing to send!!

Cheers anyway!

We're half way there!

Do you have both MMS Client & WAP MMS Transport service books?

Re: MMS not receiving/sending

The only things left to check on the phone would be the MMS relevent parts of the Text Messaging Options (Multimedia Reception & Automatic Retrieval).

Failing that, it must be a network provisioning problem ... and a call to Customer Services.

Re: MMS not receiving/sending

They are both set to always. I assume that's right?

Thank you so much for trying.....  Customer Services it will have to be... thankfully I have an excuse not to face that tonight....!

Re: MMS not receiving/sending

Always is right (or Home Only if you don't want to receive when roaming).

See how you get on with CS - otherwise one of the mod's on here should be able to speed things along.
