Missing The Bis On My Pearl!

Hi guys, my first post here and I hope you'll be able to help me out. I'll try not to be too long-winded, but basically I seem to be missing the BIS on my Pearl.
A few months ago I had an unfortunate accident with my Sony Ericsson K850 and had to get a new phone, so I bought myself a sim-free Pearl 8120. I called CS and added the BlackBerry Internet (e-mail and web browsing) to my contract, and as far as I knew everything was fine. I set up push e-mail with no problems, and have been happily browsing the web via the Vodafone Live browser which appeared.
However, yesterday I downloaded the Facebook application, and I couldn't connect. I got an error message saying my phone subscriber didn't support the service? So I checked my services status, and it says BlackBerry Internet Service: not connected. I checked with a few of my friends who also have BB's, and theirs all dispay as connected to the BIS (with "mobile" suffixed after it).
I have tried everything I can think of, including re-sending my service books and going into the "Host Routing Table" in the advanced options and re-sending the registration request, but no luck as the phone still maintains I'm not connected to BIS. I really can't understand this, as surely I shouldn't be getting my e-mail if I'm not connected to the BIS?
I really hope you guys can help me out. I'm loathe to ring CS as most of the times I've contacted them they've been pretty useless!
Thanks for taking the time to read

On the main home screen is the gprs logo displayed like this 'gprs' or 'GPRS' ??
I would try doing a hard reset first, leave the phone on, take battery cover off and remove battery.
Leave off for about 10 mins then put back together.

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply.
I tried a hard reset, but still no luck. I have "GPRS" in capital letters.

Hi Ben
First of all welcome to the eForum, thanks for joining
As you're new make sure to have a look at the Vodafone Help Centre, which is full of great information on all things Vodafone.
The problem you're experiencing seems very much like an issue with provisioning on your BlackBerry account. If rare but possible that you'll have the email provisioning but not the full internet provisioning. The good news is that it's very easy to fix on a system we have here. I'm going to send you an email now, if you reply I'll be in touch and get you up and running straight away.
Speak to you soon.
Cheers
J

Hi folks
I have started a new thread here: http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24 268
but my issue seems very very similar to the one bentheslayer was having. I had a BB Pearl then changed it for a Nokia N958Gb at contract change time but recently decided I wanted my BB back so I put my sim in the Pearl and phoned CS to have the BB service activated on it. Everything works with emails, BB Messenger, etc but BB Maps and BB App World tell me I am not connected to BIS. Can you help?
