Hi everyone.
Its has happened again.
My Beloved Storm 2 is blew another speaker. Yes its the call speaker at the top of the handset,
This has happened twice before and each time it has been sent away to get repaired no problems. I dont have the volume set above 75% as its usually fine until it blows then i can barely hear it at all. Thank god for the loudspeaker.
However, now it over a year old and i cancelled my insurane with vodafone as i get it free with my bank account.
As this is a 3rd malfunction of the parts and not damage, water or misuse, surely this is still covered under the 2 year manufactures warrenty that i was TOLD i had by a shop assistant when it failed the second time round.
i was also told that if a device fails under the same manufacturers fault 5 times, it would be replaced by vodafone.
is this still the case or do i have to claim under insurance.
Can anyone please clarify this before i send my device away.
Many thanks for your time in reading this.

Hi deejayburnout
I'm sorry to see your having issues with your Storm 2.
If you are still within your contract with ourselves, the handset would still be covered for any manufacturing defect, under the terms of the Vodafone warranty. We cover for the term of the contract. You would only need to action an insurance claim if it had been accidentally damaged, lost or stolen.
There are times a replacement would be offered, but there's no rule, where a device is replaced if repaired a fifth time. This is normally subject to when a device is BER (Beyond Economical repair) or parts cannot be obtained.
The procedure for a warranty repair remains the same, and is full explained in our FAQ thread.
Let me know if you've any further questions.
