Hi Peter.

Signal meter is reading edge in lower case (rather than EDGE in upper case)?

This shows you're connected to the mobile network - you can make calls, send SMS, etc. - but you're not connected to the BlackBerry network.

First thing to try is a battery pull (the classic!) ... this will do a number of things like resetting the BB software as well as re-registering the phone on the network.

Next - Register via Host Routing Table (in Advanced Options).  This is usually achieved automatically by a battery pull - but no harm in trying.

If the above doesn't fix, it could be a local network fault - check the forums faults board.  Do you know anyone with a BB having the same problem?

Is your phone PAYG or Pay Monthly?  If PAYG - are you sure you have sufficient credit to cover the £5.00 BIS package?
