To the Vodafone eForum Team
or Anyone else who can help
Yesterday morning when I got up for work I noticed a new icon on my blackberry curve 9300 handset that was not there before well my question is simple can anyone tell me what it is?
Now what it looks like is a miniature version of the browser icon that is permanently displayed on my blackberry home screen with the number (1) displayed just before it.
Now although I have no idea what the icon means if I was to make a guess then I would say it must be something to do with the upgrade of the youtube video player that I already have installed on my blackberry as before the icon appeared I had a lot of trouble trying to play youtube videos on my blackberry handset but after it appeared and remained displayed on the home screen I have had no problems at all with playing youtube videos on my blackberry handset but of course all this is just theory as I still have no idea what it means but then maybe I should not worry about it anyway as it is not effecting the phones performance in any way but all the same I would still like to know what it is so if anyone can throw some light on this area I would be most grateful.

Hi JamesL
Thanks for your post here.
Is the icon yellow? If it is then it could be a Wap push message.
Open your main messages folder and click the Menu key (left of the trackball) to VIEW FOLDERS.
Look first in WAP messages, and clear or open any messages there. If its not in there, check your browser messages too.
Please give this a go and let me know how you get on. If you have any further questions we'll be happy to help you
Thanks

Here is a useful link that the mods may want to 'sticky' to the forum. It shows what all the different icons that could appear on your Blackbery look like and are.
/thank to user 'gel' for the link. ![]()

Hi I have a new icon also.
Mine looks like a smaller version of the Blackberry icon and is situated next to my wifi icon.
My guess is its BIS which Ive never had before untill I upgraded my software. Since this appeared I have been able to send email with the network turned off which I couldnt do before.
I was unable to send email with the network off for a few weeks since I changed to BT Broadband, although the signs are that BB is connected to my home hub.In fact I cant get onto BTFON or OPENZONE either,I logged on to an open TALKTALK yesterday,no problem.
Does this now mean the emails going out are probably going via my monthly package. I have a contract.
Bit waffle there,sorry.
