New number, no email, no contact with bb server, no bbm, no facebook

Hi,

Here I am again. I filled in the online form that I want to transfer my vodafone payg number to pay monthly. The swap happened today, my old payg number belongs to my pay monthly account.

Since then I have no internet, email, facebook and my phone says that cannot connect to the server. Cannot send email, service blocked it says.

Blackberry protect says "initializing but doing nothing.

Tried to access email setup: cannot contact server.

Tried host routing table - register, nothing.

Any website: communication failure has occured, try again later, if the problem persists, contact your service provider.

I have not tried signing out of blackberry account, could not yet find the way to do it on the 9900, cannot see that option.

I think I need some help.

Hello there

Am not a blackberry person. So can't talk you through what you need to do.  If you change from pay as you go to contract. You may have to change some of the setting on the phone from pay as you go to contract. I try to look on the help page of vodafone and it told me how to change it from contract to pay as you go. But not the other way around, sorry.

Diagnostic report:
BlackBerry registration: yes
Connected to Blackberry: No
Blackberry PIN-PIN Abort
(whatever that means)

Emails:
[on of my email addresses}: Abort
{my other email address}: Abort

[ Edited ]

Yeah, struggling still.

I have internet and it works fine but for some reason it wants me to setup my enterprise email address whenever I try to access the settings of the email addresses that were associated with the blackberry before the number transfer.

Called 191 in the morning, I was advised that they send me the settings in a text and I should try the battery pull. If they do not work, call them back from a different number. I did. I was passed on 3 times and eventually when I said that my internet works, I was left with the advice tor register on the www. mobileemail.vodafone.net page.

When I tried this, there came the catch 22 because it says that I should go to the Host routing table on my phone and register it on the wireless network as it says. And presto, stil nothing.

I really would like some expert help, especially in the following:

when I touch on email accounts (it says in brackets that 2, which means that somewhere I have my existing two addresses), it comes up as: NO ACCOUNT ACTIVATED. To activate your ENTERPRISE account, enter details provided by your system administrator in the fields below." By the way, it is not a company mobile, has got nothing to do with enterprise email.

Re: New number, no email, no contact with bb server, no bbm, no facebook

Hi kocsab

Thanks for your posts on this. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with your BlackBerry. I appreciate how frustrating this must be.

It simply sounds as though you BlackBerry isn’t correctly provisioned along with your number (the change over from pay as you go to contract changes some details of your number and how it is identified on the network) so we’ll just need to sort this for you.

To do this I’m going to send you an email over to the email address that you registered with. All you need to do is hit reply and fill in all of the information it asks for. We’ll then get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks

Wayne

Re: New number, no email, no contact with bb server, no bbm, no facebook

Hi. I'm having the same problem as you, but I have the curve 9360. I upgraded from orange to vodafone and changed my number over. I get internet and Facebook but when I try to use bbm or email it doesn't work. It hasn't worked since tuesday (25.10.11) and today's Sunday (30.10.11) . I've tried rebooting my bb but that didn't work. I also ran a diagnostics report and it came back like this: Blackberry registration: yes Connected to blackberry: no Blackberry PIN-PIN: abort None of my friends with bb's are having the same difficulties. Please help me as this is just getting beyond frustrating.

Hi Wiggy97,

I have taken a look at this for you and can see that your account is correctly setup for BIS usage however, so I can investigate this further please can you try the following;

Menu – options – advanced options – host routing table – blackberry button – register now

Once done, reboot the phone and test again.

If this is still not working please let me know and I will continue to look into this for you.

James
