New sim

Okay so, i lost my phone a week ago- got my old sim locked and ordered a replacement sim. Rang up voadfone yesterday morning to get the new sim registered so i can begin using it, then again this morning as it still wasn't working- they asked for the new phones imei number, and said it would be working by 4pm. i understand that it can take up to 24hours, but since i first rang to register the sim its been far longer than that and the phone still says 'SIM not provisioned' how much longer am i expected to wait before i can begin using it, or what more do i need to do before my sim will be useable. Thanks, Sophie.

Re: New sim

[ Edited ]

I've had to do this a couple of times on our company account, and after giving them the phone number to swap over and the 8944 1000 xxxx xxxx xxxx number on the new card... i've never known it take longer than half hour to become live (although upto 24 hours is always suggested)

Edit: You will need to pull the battery out and let it reboot to get it to pick up the new provisioning. it won't all of a sudden jump into life.

Re: New sim

I would call vodafone again and check that
a) the connection has moved to the new sim correctly.
b) the account does not have a usage bar on it still.

Did they ask for the number off the new sim card? you only mentioned the new device IMEI above... they would certainly need that to move your number onto it.
