Newbie- help requuired! ! BB Pearl -2g - Personal email set up

Hi there,
Can anyone offer some guidance on how I set up personal email on BB pearl 2g - on Vodafone PAYT.
I recieved a SMS saying "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" from BB.
Does this mean my handset is enabled to recieve email via BB?
Using the setup wizard, I have to option to set up a work email account with BB Enterprise server or skip the step. If I choose work email setup it asks if I have a BB Ent server administrator has provided a Ent Activation password, Yes or No? If I click yes the next screen asks for an email address and password, the PIN is already provided.
If I use my personal email address and password the activation fails. The message says an error has occurred, contact system administrator.
Do I need an activation password and if so where do I get it from please.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Cuba

Hi,
Go to Blackberry help (4th from the top of the forum list) all the info you could need is in there. If it's a personal email account; Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc..; you need BIS not BES. It maybe that BIS is not enabled in your account, if so you'll have to phone CS. But start at the Blackberry help>email

Many thanks for your repsonse.
I tried webmail.vodafone.net option and got a message that the Blackberry account is "suspended or not activated". Is there a time delay in activating the account fully as I only opted to add the BB service on my PAYT line about 12noon today?
The chap a Vodafone customer services was extremely vague, saying I needed to wait 24hr for a SMS from Vodafone saying the BB account was activated. As I mentioned previously I have a SMS from BB saying "the handheld is registered with the wireless network".
Sit and wait?
Thanks
Ps. I only have the option of BB enterprise services on my handset currently. I understand I have added BIS. Is there a fundamental difference?

Thanks for you response. All is now crystal clear. Many thanks!
Just so I know, what is a provisioning issue and how is it resolved, in case I need to go down this route?

Hi Cuba,
As you can see the guys here are only too willing to offer any advice they can, and they certainly seem to have covered all the questions you've had here, from BIS v BES to email set-up. Thanks guys!
Just so you're aware, if you do change from BIS to BES provisioning as mentioned, the changes will take place at about midnight that night, so you'll see a change in what you're getting the next day.
Any other questions, just post them and we'll get you up and running in no time!
