No Signal on Blackberry Touch 9860

[ Edited ]

I have just upgraded from a Blackberry Storm to the Blackberry Touch 9860 and find that i now have no signal at all at home. The Storm got a signal, albeit a low GPRS at various points around the house although not everywhere. The new 9860 has no signal anywhere and it is very weak outside.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem and advise if there is a fix for it.

Any help much appreciated as i work from home and need the phone to be able to function.

Re: No Signal on Blackberry Touch 9860

I have read on here that a replacement SIM can help with signal issues. Could this be a solution? The SIM has worked in my previous Storm phone although there was a signal drop off on this from the previous Sharp handset. The SIM has seen 3 or 4 upgrades by know so is relatively old i guess.

How would i go about getting a new SIM?

I believe that if you go into your local store they should be able to deal with this there and then. Dont hold me to this as it may of changed but I would give this a go as a first port of call. Just to let you know my 9860 has no problems with signal and infact appears to better than the Storm2 I came from and i'm in a patchy area.

Hi oldschool.

If you SIM is 3-4 years old then you are certainly overdue a change of that.

As already suggested, if you pop into a Vodafone store, they can change and activate a new SIM for you at no cost. If that's not possible, if you call 191, our care team can get one posted out to you, but you will need to call back when you've received it to get it activated.

If a change of SIM doesn't help the issue, then you may be looking at a faulty device. If you're within 7 days of receiving it, just call 191 and they can arrange for a new replacement. After this time you will need to use the Vodafone repair service.
