SMS messages from a Bold 9780

Just before xmas I took delivery of a Bold 9780 as company works phone, it works a treat with emails etc, however when sending SMS messages essecially to other phone, people can not read the messages, it says "Unable to Open. Message format not supported", but stangly it does work if I send it to my other phone which is an HTC. I have tried various settings and also checked the message centre number which is correct, there is some which says "Data coding" it is set to 8 bit but also has 7 bit and UCS2, not sure what they are!

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

It does sound like the coding of the SMS may be causing this issue. Why don't you try one of the other options (7bit first) and let me know how that goes? At worst, it won't work and you'll have to change it back.
