I've had my Bold for a week now and for no reason, the Sound and Profile button is suddenly not working.

When I click the loudspeaker icon on the home screen (under the date) nothing happens.

Also, if I go to 'All' and click on the bigger loudspeaker icon, that doesn't work either.

Yet until today it has worked fine. So there's no way of me moving from Normal mode to Silent mode.

I got round it today by going into Settings >Phone Ringtone > and then setting the Ringtone to Silent, but I don't want to do that every time. I'm also worried it means something is wrong with the phone.

I've turned it on and off, but still no difference. Have I hit a button that's made it stop working?

All the other functions on that home page work, so scrolling right to messages and then onto search both work (I'm hitting the middle button to get those). Hitting the blackberry key when I've highlighted the loudspeaker icon just gets me a choice of Switch Application; Maximise Panel, Manage Panels or Options and none of those get anywhere.

Hmmm. I turned it off again, took the battery out this time, put it back, turned it on, and that button is now working.

Has anyone else had a problem like this with this phone? It never happened on my Curve. Should I be worried?

It's probably just a quirk of the OS. If it happens again, if you press and hold Q it will go to vibrate profile, pressing and holding it a second time returns you to normal.

Make sure dialling from the home screen is off to do this.
