no need to configure computer by bluetooth or other ways as all done for you then in this vodafone supplied software. also you can still use your phone for voice calls whilst it is connected.

I am having problems with this, anyone else having problems? I have it installed and set up and all the settings are correct. although when I connect the usb to the phone and then check the Vodafone application it shows as no device connected and then I get this error come up - Your phone may not be supported yet. Please check www.support.vodafone.com for the latest supported phones.

Any ideas anyone?

Storm 2 Set Up As A Modem Guide Please

Hi Bobbin,

Can you confirm if you've tried the setup guide that the moderator posted earlier in the thread? Setting Up A Blackberry BIS Phone As A Modem

I've just been looking though the guide and can see there is one important bit of information missing from the guide which I've flagged up to be amended. Where it mentions the initialisation command it should read at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet" . I'd recommend giving this guide a go to see how you get on, it's how I setup my Storm as a modem when I first got it and it also worked with the Storm2 I borrowed over the weekend.

Let me know how you get on :).

Storm 2 Set Up As A Modem Guide Please

George,

Thanks for getting back to me, but I dont want to have to manually configure the access if I can avoid it. I am a business customer and the link above was posted from the business section - click here for Software> http://www.business.vodafone.com/download/...82-a00de7301855

I would rather use this simple form of connection if possible and as it works for most was wandering why it doesn't work for me, I am running Vista if that helps.

Cheers

All is says is thos phone is not recognised and may not be supported.

Is there a way Vodafone Mods can check a) this phone is supported b) what settings if any need to be set on the phone for the app to recognise it and c) if there is an update to this application and if so can you please post the link.

Thanks

Storm 2 Set Up As A Modem Guide Please

Hi Bobbin

The reason you are getting the error message is because none of the Blackberry's are supported on this application. The ONLY way to be able to set this up is by following the guide How to set up Blackberry BIS as a modem. I know it's a pain having to do things manually but unfortunately this is the official word from Blackberry

Give it a go and see how you get on. :D

Storm 2 Set Up As A Modem Guide Please

Thanks for getting back to me Katrina.

Seems a bit odd and very annoying that an application based on Business Customers does not support the main Business phone, being Blackberry!

Any chance you can get the developers and test engineers to get off there fag break and get them to sort it, and while your there can you ask them to sort out the Sat Nov for the Storm 2 as well :P

Storm 2 Set Up As A Modem Guide Please

Actually Katrina, if you look at the posts above there are two users at least that have used this application and have it working fine, so how have they managed to get an application to work on the Storm 2 when you say that it doesn't????????

Can MAGGOT and TANKIE_SEAN please confirm that they are using this Businees application to tether there Storm 2, as Vodafone seem to think that this is not possible.

Would like to get this sorted, thanks for your patience and time Katrina and everyone else.
