I have had a Storm 2 for just over 18 months and I am not eligible for an upgrade until September. A couple of days ago I tried to use the camera and was greeted with the message "Could not open camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again". There were no other applications open on the device other than the ones that are permanently open. I had not experienced any problems with the camera prior to this. I tried rebooting the phone (several times) and I also did a wireless update but none of these have solved the problem. Can anybody shed any light on what the problem might be and how to fix it? This is particularly annoying (especially so close to the end of my contract) and it may well affect my decision as to whether or not I choose another Blackberry when I come to upgrade my phone.

If your 18 months into a contract you will still be entitled to a free of charge repair, you should also be able to upgrade online as this can be done up to 190 days early

Thanks for that. I am leaning towards the idea of an early upgrade at the moment rather than bothering with getting the phone repaired. Cheers again.

I found in the past that the camera wont work, if your device memory is really low, though saying that a reboot usually resolves this. To be honest this has really stumped me, only thing I would suggest is to update your OS via your pc
