Hi, when I try and use my internet services my blackberry 9780 says that my stream is closed. even when using my wifi i am unable to receive email, use the browser, twitter or facebook. My phone is not a year old yet and I have had several problems with it. It is slow, unreliable and the battery life is dreadful is there anyway to get an early upgrade?

Hi Charlotte, I'm afraid that you will only be eligible for an upgrade 50 days before the end of your contract. I would advise you to connect your phone to the Blackberry Desktop Manager software on your phone and see if there is an upgrade to the phones operating systems software available. If there is then update the phone and hopefully it will cure your problem. If there isn't an update I would re-load the existing operating system again as something might have become corrupted on your phone. Good luck.

Stream Closed can, I think, refer to one of two things.  It's most likely to be saying that the network connection is closed/faulty.

Is your Signal Indicator showing upper case or lower case (i.e. GPRS/EDGE, 3G with BB symbol or gprs/edge, 3G without BB symbol)?

Can you try the following?

1) ... Battery Pull & reboot.

2) ... Register through Host Routing Table.

3) ... Service Book resend.

4) ... Check TCP/IP settings : APN = internet / user = web / pass = web
