Torch battery running down when switched off

[ Edited ]
Ok I know there have been several discussions on the Torch battery life and I have taken all the tips and hints into consideration. Everything off when not needed, closed running apps, checked what apps are running, deleted unwanted apps to fee memory, several battery pulls, (also showing full 3g with Suresignal) etc, etc.

Ive had the phone less than a week and it seems to be getting worse. As an example I did a full charge last night, checked in options, device, it was showing 100%. This was at 8.30pm. Did nothing with the phone and by the time I switched it off at 10.30pm to go to bed it was showing 75%. Switched the phone on this morning and it is now showing 40%.

Something is not right. Anyone have similar problems?

Re: Torch battery running down when switched off

Hi adamcarts,

It's disappointing to hear of the problems you are having with the battery in your Blackberry Torch.

The best thing to do, is to make sure the battery is completely drained before recharging it fully. Doing this a few times allows it to calibrate correctly as it will not always show an accurate battery percentage unless it is calibrated properly. Please let us know if this improves the situation.

Re: Torch battery running down when switched off

I have done this already. Not purposely but the phone has run down to zero without my intervention. It has definitely got progressively worse over the week. My 7 days are up today. I'm wondering whether to return the phone.

Hi adamcarts,

If that is the case, then I think it would be best to get the phone returned, as this sounds like a fault. You can find more information about this in our Popular Vodafone Questions thread.
