I have 3 email addreses set up on my curve at the moment 1 work one and 2 for domains I own, I am trying to get another added for a 4th email address but keep getting an error telling me the settings are wrong.

I have managed to do this on my Desire HD and also outlook on a PC using exactly the same settings so Im somewhat confused?

I have previously had a 4th email address on it but removed it not so long ago

anybody have anyideas?

Hmmm this seems strange as you can have upto 10 accounts on one device at any one time. The fact that you have setup the account in question on another device and a pc seems rather odd.

I don't have any answers, but will look into it for you.

What kind of email account is it ? ie Gmail, Yahoo etc

You could try email details in the Blackberry validation tool. This checks if an email account will add to a blackberry. Link below.

If this passes okay but you cannot still not add it to the BB then you may want to check out http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/kb10453

This covers most if not all the reasons a valid email address will not add to a BB.

the most likely is something like reason 8. A message is too large ie Over 8MB

your gonna love the next bit!!!

I had a few minutes spare in work this afternnon so called custom services after about 40 minutes I had to end the call as I was needed to be else where but after playing about on the server at vodafones end now only one of the email addresses on my balackberry work!!

the validation tool you have linked too says al 3 of the email addresses I want to add are valid! 

Ive just emailed the guy called steve who I had to say was excelent but i gues he has finished for the night!

no mater how i try to add the email addresses either via the www.mobileemail.vodafone.net link or on the hand set I get the same error saying the user name and password are wrong but there not even steve tested this!

any other ideas?

If someone could try with a test email account I have set up it would really be appreciated

Tried, it would not connect without additional info.

I put in the mail server but it needed a user name as well.

The user name is the full email address but I think you will probably get the same erorr as me.

Okay that doesn't sound too promising.

Bottom line if the Eval  tool says they are good to go and they will not add then its time to call VF customer services.  Sorry. They will have access to admin screens on the BIS service and should be able to help. If you cover the troubleshooting you have done and the Eval tool results it should speed things up.

As a long shot you could investigate reason 10 on the http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/kb10453 links to a KB11036

If you have made changes to your BIS account it may have been moved to the newer IP ranges at the bottom of the list. This is a tough one to prove without getting support involved. The new ranges might be getting rejected by your servers somewhere. Like I said its hard to prove. IF and that's a big if, you have access to your firewall logs you can try adding an account and monitoring the activity to see if any rejected attempts are seen when it will not add. Otherwise get a call logged with VF.

im stumped too just on the train on the way home when Im in the house im going to call and speak with 3rd line as the chap I spoke with hasnt called me back as yet (althou he could be off or my email may not have got to him)

I have just managed to test the email accounts in question on a blackberry on T-Mobile and get the same issue so I can only assume its a issue with the blackberry side of things!

Im having exactly the same problems.

Just out of interest is the domain on a Cpanel website server?

I run my own dedicated server and some of my clients are experiencing the same problem. The funny thing is one of my existing email addresses linked to my blackberry is on the same server...

Hi Tom, so sorry I missed the reply on this

my domanin is hosted with ukwebhosting.net I do think it was an IP issue as my site went offline for 12 hours and then when it came back all was working?

I have no idea what is changed im still on the same IP and everything so maybe even coincidental .

I would definatley suggest calling 191 and going to 2nd linw who will then put you to third line where they know theire stuff
