Hi there,

My Mum has just given me her Blackberry 8520 she had through her business as she didn't get on with it and still uses her older blackberry. Is there any way I can get it unlocked or do I have to take it to an unlocking shop?

Hello Leo

If the Blackberry was supplied on contract, it is probably already unlocked.  Try and alternative SIM in the phone, it should work.

If you should find it is locked to Vodafone, you will be able to find how to get the Blackberry unlocked from the Frequently Asked Questions section of the forum.

Thanks for the reply. I've already tried my sim in there but the phone is locked and its definitely a contract phone as she has 4 I think for her and the people in her business. Does having it on a business contract change it at all?

Anyway I'll go check the FAQ's out.

You will need an active Vodafone number to get the code. Your Mother will be able to do this for you.
