There is no set up. If you have BIS on your account and connection to the network BBM should work. What exactly is happening or not happening? Are you getting any error message?

and what happens if they add you? Can you browse the internet or send and receive emails? Have you got the Blackberry logo next to the 3G symbol to show that you are connected to BIS?
have you tried the classic battery pull?
If that doesnt cure the problem I would delete the module via Desktop Manager and add it again. or check in App World to see if there is an updated version of the program.

Ok - so you are connected to BIS and BBM should work. It sounds like a software issue which means you need to re-load the programme or even the whole OS via Desktop Manager

I have the exact same problem on a 9360
I can send recieve emails i can send messages people recieve them i cant add or be added (because i dont get the request) People i add just appear as pending (Waiting for Authorisation)
I also have BIS RIM Pay monthly services All the jazz that SHOULD allow me to Use my BBM correctly.
I've batterey pulled reset my OS restored my phone deleted the software i''ve pretty much done EVERYTHING EVERYONE has mentioned. Searched forums and everything, No luck.

How are you adding contacts - using email or PIN?
(using PIN is more direct as it links straight to the BB)
Can you send an invite to yourself (using your own PIN)?
Bizarrely ... you can actually BBM yourself!

I find I get a better class of conversation that way ![]()
I almost never use BBM, but it should just take a few seconds to send/receive/accept an invitation (I unchecked the Security Question in Options to speed things up).

(it uses the RIM network, so will rule out network problems)

What do you mean by a pin message?
Edit: my BBM now seems to be working Lmao. Who woulda thought that adding myself would seem to sort it out!

It's like an email - BB to BB only using the phones' PINs.
Instead of Compose Email, use Compose PIN.

Glad it's fixed ... the network probably just needed a nudge!
