blackberry - really not happy!

hi,

i'm seriously at my witts end with my current situation.

I came onto the forum not to long ago and discussed the fact the screen has smashed on the inside of my blackberry, I was told I was eligable for an upgrade due to it being in October as my phone is completely unusuable and I dont see the point in paying for a contract I cant even use as my phone wont even turn on and I really dont fancy forking out a lot of money getting it fixed. Living where I live is a nightmare and the sole purpose of having my blackberry is that it works with my sure signal which is fantastic. Even if I put a sim card into an old phone until my upgrade, I can't use it due to having no signal and not having a 3G phone.

I got a call back very quickly and was told as my account was under my mums name I was not authrozied to continue with the conversation. I have now transferred the account into my name so I should be able to sort it properly.

I am totally at a loss as to what to do. it's very rare I complain as I enjoy using vodafone and what it has to offer.

However I have been told so many different things by different people about an upgrade, I am really starting to lose faith in vodafone

Please help!!

Paige

The maximum amount of remaining time which can be added onto a new contract is 50 days before the end of your contract.

If your Blackberry is broken, take it into a Vodafone store to arrange for a repair or Google Blackberry repairs.  By the sounds of things, this is accidental damage which is your fault and would not be covered under warranty and without insurance, would be chargeable.

Your other options would be to purchase a new phone at your own expense and carry on using your present contract or take out an additional line for a new phone and cancel your present contract when it expires at the end of the year.

You will be able to find how to get your phone repaired on the following link from the forum.

Re: blackberry - really not happy!

Paigekerry,

In your other thread you said that you were due for an upgrade in just under two months - two months is 60 days and as you are able to upgrade 50 days before the contract ends, I said you would be able to upgrade in 10 days. The maths is simple.

If however your upgrade is not due in just under two months, obviously the 10 day caculation is no longer valid.

im with you now - Im a waitress at college, clearly not a mathemetician :smileywink: lol :smileyhappy:

I rang up vodafone and my contract doesn't actually end until october, so august 23rd is the earliest I am eligable for an upgrade :smileysad:

Re: blackberry - really not happy!

It sounds like you will have to wait until then before you can upgrade and get a new phone. Please remember that the 50 days will be added on to the end of your new contract.

Hi paigekerry,

They guys in our upgrades team can only speak with the account holder themselves for security, but until they see the account they wouldn't know that your name was not on there, which is why they would need to check before they could say they couldn't help.

As the guys have mentioned, the upgrade period is 50 days before the end of the contract, but I can see that Ian has responded to your most recent email today to arrange to call later in order to discuss options.

I sadly wasn't around to take the call today but will definitely be in tomorrow up until 3.30pm

I spoke to someone today via telephone and Im sending my phone off to see how much it would be to repair it! fingers crossed it's not mega expensive if I only have it for 2 more months
