Re: blackberry torch 9860 charging probs

Is the charger you are using a seal plug unit or is it a USB cable that fits into a plug? You need to try all the elements individually to find the culprit. Try a different charger in your blackberry. If that has the same problem it is the phone that is broken. If another charger works it is the plug or cable. If the charger is a problem and it is a sealed all in one you need a new charger. If it is a USB cable into a plug try changing the cable. If that doesn't work it's the plug unit. Trial and error until you find the bit that isn't working. I hope it's the cable or the plug and not the phone itself. Good luck.

Re: blackberry torch 9860 charging probs

I've never seen this message myself, but it sounds like something that would be shown if the phone detected insufficient voltage from the charger.

It could be a faulty charger, a faulty cable or a problem with the charging circuits in the phone.

Are you using the same USB cable to connect to the laptop?

(Assuming you're using the standard, two-piece, charger & usb cable that comes with the phone.)

Do you have the Blackberry drivers or Desktop Manager installed on your laptop?

(Without the drivers a USB port on a PC does not supply sufficient continuous voltage to charge ... & laptop USB ports are generally lower output anyway.)

If not, install Desktop Manager & drivers.  Can you try a different laptop or PC?

Do you know anyone with a similar charger?

One other thing that might give the charging circuit a nudge ... Pull the battery, plug in & switch on charger then refit the battery.

Hope this helps.
