Since I have bis on my bb. What is the point of setting the tcpip/ apn to internet web web. Do I need to do this as I have never set them to anything before. Does it make any difference and if it does what?

you dont have to.
*some* applications dont use BIS to operate and would need the APN set but most do. Unless you encounter an app that wont work at all, theres no need to worry about it.

Hi madhatter2426
Darkone is quite correct if you have BIS then you don't need to set this as its all handled via the service book.
Thanks
