my blackberry 8520 is not working

when i use the internet on my blackberry 8520 it says;

"your device does not currently have any browser convifiguration service book entries"

 

when i use bbm it says 

"this application has been disabled by IT policy"

 

when try the wireless updates and check for updates

"requesting new updates has been disabled by your administrator"

Hi namzi.

 

Is your BB a personal or corporate phone?

The messages you quote would suggest that the phone is running a BES policy -  one that can be controlled by a company's IT dept.

 

If it's a company phone - which I'm guessing it's not - you would need to speak to your IT dept.

 

If it's a personal phone, it sounds like the Service Books have been lost.  Usually a battery pull will refresh these as well as re-register the BB on the network.  The IT policy message is more difficult - the battery pull may or may not solve.

 

I assume it's not a new BB ... sometimes new phones can be configured for BES rather than BIS.  A call to Vodafone customer services to ask them to re-provision is the best course in this case.

 

Has anything happened that could have caused it?

Have you recently installed/updated/deleted any applications?
