Hi Ben.

It does depend on the specific app error ... is there a code?

Sorry to say, it's most likely terminal but if you search the internet for 'blackberry white screen' there are plenty of tutorials.  Some will be scary and say that the phone is bricked - others will give you a bit more of a chance of revival (there's a good YouTube video that walks you through).

Is the Red Light flashing?

If so, there is a curious method mentioned in a few places (might be worth a try):

1. Remove the battery for one minute.
2. Hold the red "End" button down as you replace the battery.  The red LED light will stop blinking and stay on.
3. Hold down the green "Call" button for a moment and then hold down the red "End" button.  Alternate pressing these two buttons until you see the hourglass icon on the screen of your BlackBerry. Stop alternating between the buttons and wait for your BlackBerry phone to finish booting up.

I seem to remember another 'fix' whereby you pull the battery and connect to charger (with battery still out of the phone).  Turn on charger then do the Red/Green dance mentioned above.

The only sure fix seems to be to reload the OS (needs to be plugged in to a computer). The trick, apparently, is to does this WITHOUT the battery.

Is everything backed up?  A reload will involve losing all data on the phone.

having exactley the same problem tried pauls suggestions but nothing works anything else i cld try help

Sorry Beverley but it's a return to Vodafone I'm afraid (assuming it's still under warranty).

If not, and you're happy to experiment, there are numerous threads over at Crackberry on the use of (I think I've got the names right) JavaLoader & JLCommander with the (slim) possibility of resurrecting a dead BB.
