DEVICE LOAN PROGRAMME

[ Edited ]

Hi Guys,

Check out this great new feature Tom has implemented.

Device Loan Program

You get the opportunity to try Different mobile phones and write a review of them. To start with there are a selection of phones that are currently available but in future the idea is to try phones before they are released!

I have been in talks with Tom about this project for a while and I am proud to announce that I will be among the first to trial this program.

Why not Sign up HERE

You did a good job of keeping it quiet TSD!

All, really excited to launch this, it's something that (as far as I know) is unprecedented in the mobile world, so I'm hopeful it'll be a huge success.

Thanks,

Tom

Are the reviews going to be posted on here untouched eg we can be onest there not going to be altered ?

Good idea as well plus what the point in selling a phone that is well Rubbish, But it could be intresting are you going to do some sort of rating eg 5 stars for a good phone

@N-dj

The idea is for people to give a "Real Person", review of each handset, not a journalistic bombardment of technical jargon.

Tom is going to draw up a "Walk Through" of the type of things people could do. However it is strictly aimed at people getting their hands on a device they might not usually choose, using it for about Ten days and then writing about their personal experience of the phone. This could include, video's, How to's, what works and what dosen't.

I think it's a great way to try different OS's, devices and ultimately make sure the long term commitment we all make is the right one!

For the people who don't get a chance to test a phone at least they can ask questions to people who have tried it.

This will be really be useful when Un-released phones are tested. You can ask a real person what works and what is not so good.

TSD :smileywink:

This is a great idea and an absolute first of it's kind for any mobile provider that I'm aware of. Vodafone are already in the lead for innovation in my opinion and this eforum easily demonstrates this as you get to know the staff on a personal basis and thus in turn helps solve any problems or issues any customers may have, also it retains customers in the long run :smileyhappy:

I totally agree with ado on this; The eForum is the perfect place to build a relationship with staff and the company. It offers us, the end user the opportunity to suggest ideas for the company and to gently mould a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship.

Who better to guide the future of a company than the people who use their service each day! I think we should commend Tom and the Team for their ground breaking ability to listen, learn and move forward.

Well Done "The Team"!icon14.gif.png

Re: DEVICE LOAN PROGRAMME

Indeed Soup, putting aside the loan program the eforum has been instrumental for VF and no doubt a huge sucess. This point was proved way back last year when we first got our Galaxy's and had problems with the branding. Althrough we did kick up a stink about it VF did in all fairness take our points on board and because of this they were the first to launch froyo 2.2 in a more or less unmolested state. Most of us could have slid away after this result but the hardcore of us did stick with the forum and continue to make contributions and help new comers. No other carrier that i'm aware of in the UK has a live eforum for its customers to get instant help from

Hey All,

It's brilliant to see such positivity about the programme!

I totally agree with you guys that it's something that probably sets us apart, but it's just one aspect of the forum and a taste of things to come.

We couldn't be heading in this direction without you all, so thankyou, let's make this a success!

If anyone wants to be involved, please write out a request on the forum explaining why you'd like to be involved and what you'll do if we send you a device, or alternatively email me at tom.rushton@vodafone.com.

Thanks,

Tom

Re: DEVICE LOAN PROGRAMME

[ Edited ]

Hi NDJ,

It's not really about reviewing handsets exactly- people are welcome to review them, but it's more the experience of getting to try something different out, and the reward element of us loaning new phones out to positive contributors.

To be honest we'd get more from it if people looked for "holes" in our support offering for the devices, stuff like things it's not easy to set up. Then they can either feed back to us and we'll create help FAQs or videos, or the user can create them themselves. That make sense?

This sounds like a back track now Tom??? I read I no Soup put this and i no he has sorted this with you the "You get the opportunity to try Different mobile phones and write a review of them" which is grate and i thought the hole point of all this.

i think we need son clarification as to what is going on here

So your wanting us to find the faults and holes in your support on a phone ?

Tom can we have this clarifed exactly what you want from us ? as i read it above we do a review of the phone, who seas this review will it be on the forum as a review  or is it  just for the support team ?
