International research commissioned by P2i, a leader in liquid repellent nano-coating technology, reveals demand for mobile devices to be water-repellent as standard. The results come as more and more consumers put their phones at risk of moisture and corrosion damage as they go about their day-to-day activities.

I have a Galaxy s out there that is well mashed and has been dropped in many a puddle but still works after its dryed
But that has been repaired by samsung for free twice and both the idecator had gone
My next phone will have this if not i'm not having it

Asus have pulled a blinder here the phone is a stock Android its a dual core at the moment there are plans for a quod core
at the moment there pitching this as a Buisnese product but as a phone its very nice then as a tablet its amazing then add a keyboard and well there you go
I carn't see Vodafone doing this as its direct from asus, but it shows the way things are going and it Rocks
There also talking to Microsoft on a dual boot idea with the windows 8 platform
this could be my net phone Oh and its ip57 (Splash proof as well )
There seems to be a group of thinking were one item does all
some are going with a Dock idea
This idea I have and has been sujested in a office you leave the keyboard and monitor on your desk and tak the phone leaving the laptop behind and if you want to do a meating you can use the tablet
But the same can be aske why do we nee a phone and a tablet or a laptop
for sales reps this rocks as they can use it in what ever way they prefer

I have noticed this and its a bad thing
Motorola found this out and came up with the razor Max and mad a upgrade kit
Now there phone is splash proof and needs a tool to get in the back
But I fear that if we want splash proofing the battery removal may suffer
The problem is manufacture putting the right battery in in the first place
apple have had success with this, so when they had battery drain issues they new it was firmware
Now XDA as part of there questions have asked about the battery
If you have a 4" screem you need a 2000mah+ battery
Sadly HTC are not putting replaceable batteries
And they did get some stick on battery life
Now the razor Max has shown that a bigger battery works and were not bothered how thin
One other probem is they need to put a Harware reset button if you the phone needs resetting
So to sum up the MWC2012
New thinking on phones by all which is nice to see
splash proofing (about time)
NFC coming to europe eventually if we want it
LG have come up with Phones that people want the optimus 4xHD
Panasonic have a cool phone out (were have they been hiding)
HTC have listerned a bit!!!! there new phone on the whole looks ok but no sd or removerble battery could put people off
But we shall see
There seems to be alot missing from the MWC well there was alot but corparate rubbish!!! that we don't need to no about
But One thing that was missed was and featured on the BBC click was 4G and how fast

4G is big in the states and for some faster then there home network
But networks in the UK are still struggling with 3G and don't we know it
Well there is one that did take a look
and it was thos unlimited chaps at "3" but not in the Uk yet but Germany
But we want 4G in the UK but its ponitless if its capped tho things need to chang
So what were Vodafone looking at !!!!
NFC not 4G they were looking at somthing that has been class as a gimic and not a major selling option
in the USA 4G is selling phones if a phone has not got 4G on they don't want to no
Hence the HTC One XL it has NFC and 4G still works on 3G, but has every thing now i no its dual core but even so
are we ready or do we need quod core most have not even qoud core on there PC computers,
It Looks like manufacture look at what can make there device differant as ICS makes most look the same
strange how all windows phones look the same
Most of us would want a smart phone that has uptodate firmware and works
The Buzz words are 4G

ICS
Screen size
CPU
Camera (megapixels)
Design (Asus won that hands down)
Manufacture (Hawawiwawiwiwi or what ever) Its the who!!! facter then they get a OOO Nice

The strange thing is i have been asking my sons class via email what they thought about the phones
Most want to know when the Galaxy S3 will be out oh and were was the new Blackberry ???
But praticle stuff they likes eg splash proofing

The Asus touchpad thing and the Panasonic
The panasonc as it was spash proof and different
Both Vodafone are not doing
The HTC did well but no sd and battery let it down not even having th cloud storage helped
So the teenage vote did not go to any phone other then the Hawawawaerayau thing , I asked if all the phones that were out what would you pic, plus the ones that are out
1. The Galaxy S2 because its getting ICS
2. The Galaxy Nexus (cos its new and has ICS)
3. Any Blackberry that has BBM on it (its a teeage thing)
5 Asus touchpad or panasonic

I like the inclusion of your Son's Class in summing up this years event.
For me the hands down winner would have to be the "Phone Pad". I can really see this being the way forward and something I would seriously consider buying.
I agree with MTL, So excited to see Ubuntu for Android on a device like the Phone Pad 
Well the tec heads at Asus said that they have tried it, But they are only doing what market forces dictate eg Google
They said there looking at when the phone plugs in to the Tablet its ICS Tablet
Then when it plugs into the keyboard its Unbuntu Or Googles IOS
They have been aproched to make the first Google Tablet But the dual Boot may happern in some shape or form
